I do feel that the movie would have had a different tone.

Sure at first a relationship may not be the first thing on his mind, but I guarantee that
      eventually
he'd get lonely enough and want to be with someone. Humans are social creatures, we're not programmed to live our lives alone. We all want a deeper connection with someone, so while I do think it would be a different movie if the main character was a guy, it wouldn't be as different as you might think. After a few hundred years, all the money and things in the world wouldn't mean anything. Guarantee he'd eventually want someone to share it all with.

I doubt it would be much different. Adeline was already avoiding relationships to an inhuman degree.

If Adaline were a man, we wouldn't see the sexist schlock that's all over this board. "OMG SHE HAD SEX WITH THE DAD AND SON!!!!"
If she was a man like board would probably be all congratulatory or just not mention anything.

She doesn't know that William is Ellis father so it doesn't count?

You've got to take the era into account.
Had this happened to a woman today, I suspect she'd have spent less time worrying about relationships.

Try watching the Highlander series and you will see the "man as immortal" perspective on relationships with women. It turns out being very similar.

There's the reply I was looking for.
Gender has nothing to do with it, OP. Most people get lonely and want a lasting connection at some point. It's not about sex or romance - it's about family. There are exceptions, people who prefer to remain alone for one reason or another, but most need close bonds with other people. Love, trust, belonging, companionship, security. Someone who knows you. Someone you can count on. A lot of people don't think that much about it in their twenties, but as they age, for most people it slowly becomes important.
Again, there are exceptions, but gender has nothing to do with it.

Her only long-term relationship, outside of her daughter, of course, was with a blind woman, for obvious reasons.
Not being able to sustain long-term relationships would really suck.
I don't want the world. I just want your half.

If this was a male character, the movie would've been a lad comedy about parties, drinking and one night stands. Bad as the movie is, at least we were spared from something!

Weird how this movie has that 40's-ish feel:
"Drop your plans, take good care of your man now".

There was an old Twilight Zone episode like that about a man who is ageless and has lived for thousands lf years. He too would involve himself with young women, and eventually leave them to keep his secret intact.
When I'm good, I'm GOOD. When I'm bad, I'm BETTER.

The board would be up in arms about a 107 year old man trying to sleep with 20 somethings.

If main of this movie character would have been a guy
He would have been babyfaced 40 year old guy that would have been ridiculed during WWII if he didn't sign up for military and if he did join the military all sorts of suffering would have followed. Assuming he survived the war, awkward veterans meetings would have followed in decades to come with funerals of guys who he served with.
                                    Supporting characters
Mike, the 22 year old guy who threw grenade in room occupied by civilians in France 1944 and never got over it, offed himself in mid 50's.

if he already had a kid like she did it would be different. He'd not enjoy watching his child grow old.
