I thought that was the main issue with the movie as well. There were many times when the lines were strange & not very realistic. People just didn't talk the way normal people would, even considering the day & age it was set it. A bit choppy & many lines did not flow.

It's the movie equivalent of "shiny".
It doesn't matter how ugly, useless or uninteresting something is to me, if it's shiny I will check it out.
There is a psychological aspect to films,and the people that understand that aspect are modern day wizards and grand magicians.
Nathan Lane is what kept me around. He's one of the few comic actors who can make anything work script wise. He's a master at making campy/cheesy entertaining for all. He can break the 4th wall without breaking the 4th wall. Genius. -

This movie is closer to the Snow White story than Snow White and the Hutsman.
And why would you walked out of a movie that you paid for? If you really wanna find out if it's good or not, you can read reviews and watch the trailers.
