In the end, Jay realises she is a lovely person and looks past the fact of her not being as skinny as her friends. Maybe that will help teenagers who watch the film realise that, just because someone isn't perfect, does not make them less than human. She looked really hurt at the beach when those men started sneering at her and calling her names. I'm betting, for whatever reason, every person on the planet has been through that in some way. Maybe the film showed that part of growing up is to become more empathetic and less self-absorbed.

they hardly found thw worst looking girl on earth to play her, maybe a little bit stereotypical on how easy she appeared! jay could have been up to his knees in her if he had played nice on the first night.
im suprised she went for him to be fair.
the only bad choice girl wise in the movie was wills! i didnt believe for one second that she would go for him, infact she didnt even fit in with her mates. odd casting choicei didnt like it at all.

Any guy can get any girl, its just a matter of time and making sure you behave like yourself and talking utter beep at the same time.
I didn't find the whole Alison and Will thing that unbelievable due to knowing a guy at work who in all honesty has a very strange head with a lot of acne but due to him getting over it at a young age and just being himself/remaining talkative he pulls attractive girls.
Its all about confidence.
Also women are strange and make decisions about relationships based on the weirdest beep ever sometimes. -

maybe the minority of girls you may be in do ;), but my shallow female friends always harp on about how they only go for hot guys, or ones with money!

yeah I cannot stand women like that (or guys) i'm pretty old now so all that superficial crap got tired years ago. Saying that most of my friends are male as I have never liked it, and whilst they may have been shallow they weren't bitchy lol

i have more female friends, although i guess not every single one of them is like it, but i can think of stand out examples from them:)i dont think think they will grow out of it as we are already all in out late 20's early 30's and they have been like it for years.

women go for personality over looks every time because we are not as shallow as most men, our brains work in different ways
What
!? If that was the case, shows like
Take Me Out
would feature thirty blokes and one girl.
Poor example, since television shows like that thrive on shallow people. However, women are far and away the shallower sex. Men are less picky about appearances, age, their partner's career and I imagine we have the same standards as women when it comes to personality too (or lower)

Yeah, that's why most unmarried men are middle class or poor, right? You can't just make sexist beep up and expect to be taken seriously. There are far more ugo dudes dating pretty women than the reverse. Women do have better brains in that regard and are less shallow. And plenty of men who don't want kids at all still are terribly shallow so don't kid yourself.
I met Cinderella once she's actually kind of a bitch. -

Whilst trying to not be overly controversial she was a big girl. Agreed she is not far of the now " normal" size but in my opinion that is a criticism of modern UK. 20 years ago she would not have been normal size.
With the obesity problems modern society is facing I do not think we should be trying to praise girls for being overweight and unhealthy. They are proving a huge burden to the national health and this problem is one that is growing. If the movie offends girls of a similar size in my opinion that can only help and prehaps they may change thier diet and start exercising. -

normal size does not mean healthy and unfortunately normal size of an English girl is now not just overwieght but is fat.
What is your descritpion of overwieght???? Size 12+ usually means a girl is overwieght and that girl looked a size 18 or so -

Not yours clearly.
I don't go by dress size that's just stupid. You can be a size 10 waist and be a size 18 top. Bewley is in no way a size 18. Think you have a bad misinterpretation of size tbh -

sorry how the hell do you know what her BMI is? You don't know her lifestyle or anything, and you sure as hell aren't a doctor, or a dietitian. BMI is not a very good judge, and you certainly can't tell just from looking at a person what it is

she looks a bit chubby because practically all other actresses on screen these days are emaciated anorexics she's just big built, a larger girl could not pull off a bikini like she did and your right about the guys laughing lol
