I haven’t seen that so I didn’t get it.
I have read Gentleman Jim though which is the book which precedes it.

It has been on my list. I like the Raymond Briggs offerings that I’ve watched and read to date such as Ethel and Ernest.

I'm not sure I've came across much of his stuff. I probably have but I tend to go for less Ken Loach and more Ken Dodd in my comic books

Gentleman Jim is much more lighthearted. It’s about a toilet cleaner who dreams of something more exciting. Anyone who’s ever been bored of their work or life can relate to Jim.

You say lighthearted but unless the Sariens attack him near the beginning of the story I'm not so sure that it is Bobby

Well yes there’s no Judge Dredd or Slaine or anything like that in Gentleman Jim, but it is a lovely little comic that’s both whimsical and poignant. It’s only very short too.

There's a good story called "Button Man" by John Wagner that has no Dredd or Slaine in it Bobby
I'm not against comics being more than boobs and bombs
But a janitor who dreams is a little Walter Mitty (Which is a good movie).
Is there at least a reoccurring gag or Chekov payoff?

Yes I have read Button Man. You know, I can’t really remember as it’s been so long since I’ve read it. If you can find it on Amazon for under a tenner then I recommend.

I've read it already Bobby and it was a nice and fun read. Good artwork moreover
It was a Walter Mitty tale as I expected and the humour was a nice dark kind of British humour

We should perhaps do a Filmboards group viewing where we arrange a time and (whoever wishes to) watches the movie at the same time as us all synchronised. Then we all meet up on here afterwards and chatter about it.

Ooo that would be great!! Although I would suggest everyone saving their thoughts until after the film, that way the full horrors and message of Threads can be properly absorbed.
