yeah so you should be with a person that tells you to get rid of the cat and you listen. next they will start telling you to get rid of everything that means dear to you. pretty much later you are with a person that controls you
why would you be with a person that doesnt respect your opinion and respects what you want to keep in your life.

My original point is and was in the example I gave was that the guy never ASKED HER to give up the cat. She said IF he ever were to ask her if it was between him and the cat, she would pick the cat. My contentions are, NO ONE needs to be involved in an intimate romantic relationship with anyone who values an animal over the relationship. If you're the type of person who values animals more than people, you need to just leave people out of your life and stick with whatever animal you want. It truly is a win/win situation for you and your animal and anyone who might have been in your life in another sort of situation. Besides all of that we are talking about troubled cats/troubled people. I only know this, once I'm in a relationship and I'm devalued IN that relationship no matter what it's for then it's time to get out regardless if there is a pet involved. We're talking an animal here people NOT say someone's kids. People in the United States are getting more and more animal crazy and less able to deal with their fellow human beings.

i have volunteered at shelters so many years. ONE THING I HATE is when a person comes and says they have a new boyfriend/girlfriend and they want the animal gone. WTF?
        really? HAVE A BACKBONE.
people get rid of pets for the dumbest reason.
my husbands old coworker. he got rid of this dachshund dog he had for 10 years. he bought new carpets and dog was send to shelter because he didnt want any pee on the carpet. i hope the b@stard get awful karma.

This is excellent advice, tigerbos. I don't see how anyone could disagree with this advice.

no body says you have to value one more than other. but dont treat it like it is trash/object.
if you only get pets for when it is convenient for you. DONT GET A PET.
just leave animals alone. and just stick with treating people like trash. at least with people they have the will power to avoid you

Are you addressing me? I'm saying you do have to value one more than the other. Guess which one.
If the cat is terrorizing your kid, and you can't keep the cat out of the kid's room, then you need to get rid of the cat.
just stick with treating people like trash. at least with people they have the will power to avoid you
But I don't treat people like trash, not even trashy people.
You don't have the willpower to avoid me. I predict you'll mouth off at me again.

And this is where people have a problem with you. Valuing one being above another is BS and shows a complete lack of compassion towards other living things.
And you DO treat people like trash. Don't deny it, a lot of us have seen you do it on this board.
You should NEVER have kids or animals because you obviously can't get beyond your selfish better than everything attitude.

To repeat for the slow ones:
It. Doesn't. Matter. What. The. Kid. Did.
The kid is being attacked by the cat. He is being scratched. He is frightened. If a person attacked your kid, you'd stop him any way you could. You should be stopping the cat from doing it any way you can.
If you don't, if you allow it, that's child abuse.
If you need to punish your kid, do it some other way.

If the Cat is freaking out because the kid half-blinded him? Hell you correct the kid. If the Cat is freaking out because the kid routinely pulls their tail when the cat is half blind and can't see the attacker? You correct the KID. If the Cat is attacking because the kid stepped on his tail by accident?
None of this happened on the show I've been talking about. Yet you keep escalating the severity of false events.
The cat was blind, unrelated to the kid's behavior or that of the rest of the family. The cat had PTSD, not caused by anything in any way malicious by anybody. And that was a sweet kid.
You have poor comprehension or maybe you suffer from delusions.

And you have poor comprehension about the fact that while the kid can learn to change his behavior to suit a traumatized cat, the cat needs to be taught that things can change.
What you are screaming as child abuse is anything but.

Yes the kid does. He needs to learn how to work with the cat and make the cat feel safe and secure so it doesn't attack him out of fear.

Totally agree with you Lily. I had a boyfriend who did the same to me.. the ultimatum of he goes or the cats go.. I told him Id help him pack. YES he was a controlling person and very jealous. Our relationship ended about 5 years ago and I couldn't be happier.
