She is seducing these old ass ugly white men like they are hot ****!! Leo and Sean are ugly and old now but Tayana stays in character throughout! The likelihood of a black woman being sexually attracted to old white dudes is very low. And the character is not a sex worker either. I could understand if the character was a sex worker. That would make it easier to pretend.
But she's not a sex worker.
I'm highly impressed.

And then she just disappears for the rest of the film, never to be seen again. What was the point of her character? Just a convoluted way to introduce a mixed race character to keep the plot going.
She wasn’t likeable, her actions made no sense, and she’s uglier than hell. Maybe her performance was good, it’s hard to tell when the plot is so dumb. -

They could have not included her character and it wouldn’t have made any difference for the plot. Everything in the opening 30 minutes is so half cooked and glossed over that nobody gives a **** about her.
Explain to me why a white supremacist is fooling around with a black woman? His reasoning for wanting his daughter dead is silly nonsense, the whole film doesn’t make sense, it’s like a live action Looney Tunes episode. -

She was the central character to the story and the racial angle is what drove the last half of the movie. She's what tied DiCaprio's and Sean Penn's characters together.
The movie got so boring after her character fled the country and she had no more screen time. The rest of the film was standard boring drama that kind of was aimless. I couldn't care about DiCaprio our the daughter. Lockjaw was mildly interesting. Those minds were boring and that entire KKK side plot was dumb.

She’s nothing special. I didn’t know she was hyped until after I’d seen it, and she didn’t stand out to me. You could interchange with her with the other two black girls in the movie.

I saw this movie blind, and when I finished I did not think “Wow that Teyana Taylor was amazing.” She didn’t stand out to me. I’m not sure what the fuss is about me. I think you could literally swap her hype with Regina Hall in the same movie and have her be the it girl instead, and people would go along with it.
