The actor's name is Hector Elias, according to Seth Meyers' Twitter account

      OMG, Yes.
This one really played out straight.
I could really believe that a chef would be that eccentric when gathering the best ingredients.
I can believe that a son would give up his vision of life to follow in his fathers footsteps / take over the family business.
      It was just beautiful.

Agree, it was an excellent episode. I usually do not watch anything more than once but I had to share this episode with my wife since she is always watching chef movies and documentaries. I liked it better the second viewing. It was cool that they didn't have Arturo screw everything up, made for a very touching fake documentary.

I enjoyed it, but didn't find it laugh out loud-funny. Much like most things Seth Meyers is involved in, I found the writing to be smart but it didn't ctually make me laugh. Actually come to think of it, I did chuckle at the part about how it's the only michelin-starred restaurant that's a 7 hour walk from the nearest road (or something like that).

That's how I felt. Most of the Documentary Now episodes are hilarious, but this one was so subtle that I barely noticed the humor.

Yeah this was a 10/10 for sure. I can't think of one negative thing to say about it 🙂 Unfortunately the episode following this one was painfully bad.

The pinnacle was when Juan winked after Arturo suggested that the heart attack might be faked. It really could have been a real documentary.

I tend to view the show more as a product of Fred Armisen's esoteric tastes. I thought that this one was one of the funnier ones. I liked the idea of the skittles chicken and just how simple the menu was as if banana shopping or cooking plain rice could be that difficult

Not as funny as I was hoping but solid enough.

My favorite part of the whole thing is that there is no guarantee that chicken will be on the menu when you eat there. So funny.

The best of the second season so far for me. I also liked that it ended on a positive note for Arturo.

I love how we are all in agreement that the best thing about this documentary was that it did not end with Arturo messing everything up.
