They look down on many as pawns, yet forget they can still be eliminated from the game themselves.

I heard of their story here at the forum
What a crime to separate those babies. The two that are still living turned out to look very different from each other as they grew older

They all appeared to be lively, intelligent vibrant boys even if raised in different backgrounds. When they saw each other, it was authentic and genuine love at first sight.

There was likely a lot more going on here than was disclosed. It would have been personal deeper darker demons with Eddy. I'm not so sure if this aspect was related to the separation.

Hard to say. I've heard it said that it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem

I've heard that as well. I don't know. For some people, depression can be profound and last a lifetime, in which case, the problem would not be a temporary thing.

They met up with their birth mother, but that didn't end up being much of a enlightening experience because she hadn't been a part of their lives or had nurtured them. She would have been more like a stranger. Blood isn't always thicker.

Yes, they were strangers. I know someone who was raised by her grandmother, and she refers to her birth mother by her name

This says so much for how others contribute and are influential in ones lives. The birth mother brought them into this world, and they would have genetic traits, but perhaps not so much personality characteristics. These are largely formed through experience of conditioning.

I agree ~ she's not really like her birth mother at all, although they were raised by the same woman
The grandmother who raised her admitted to me when her daughter was a teen that she didn't like her
When your mother doesn't like you, that has to be a very strange upbringing

A dear friend of mine had this experience. It had to be confronted and addressed and there is still animosity.
No one said our birth parents are meant to be our besties.
Its like fathers too running off on their children. The kid may be curious to know about their father, but it means nothing when they meet them. They played no part in the formation of the being they are today.

My sister thought our mother didn't like her when we were growing up because of the way our mother treated her
My sister spent a lot of her adult life being rude to her
I can understand up to a point and our mom knew why she was like that, and she never complained about how my sister treated her, but I did
My sister is rude to me sometimes too. I think it's because I'm her sister and she takes my love for granted
I doubt if she would ever say rude things to her friends like she does to me

Same with siblings and rivalry is always going to happen. I guess I have been lucky with my sister because we pretty much got along for 99.9% of the time.
Parents do need to watch themselves when they have more than one kid, because children are like sponges and can misinterpret things too.
Why did your mother treat her the way she did?

Good to hear that about you and your sister
My sister and I get along, it's just that she tends to be blunt, and I don't say anything because I don't want to hurt her. I laugh a lot so I'm sure I get on people's nerves
My mother is a controlling person. When we were in our early teens, she started checking up on us by calling where we said we were going to go
If we weren't there, she and my stepfather would wait until we got home and try to catch us in a lie
At least that's what happened to my sister. Then my mom would hit her, and I guess this happened to her a lot, where our mom was hitting her
That is why I understood why she had such animosity towards our mom, but when I was with them, I would get upset and annoyed at how my sister would ignore our mom when she would try and converse with her

There is resentment there and the abuse and controlling nature of your mother took its toll on your sister. You may have been the more compliant one.

My sister was a bit more defiant, but I was no angel, just a bit of a late bloomer
I hate that they treated her like that and that I didn't protect her
I guess my only excuse is that she treated me like she didn't like me

Though I wonder if the three boys had been allowed to grow up together if Eddy wouldn't have found enough love and comfort and reassurance in his relationships with his two brothers to not have come out okay.
