Including a statue of Robert E Lee in Richmond.

There are too many places to go and too little time. Maybe one day I'll meet a hot Cuban and go to Florida. But as of now, I have no plans.

Washington helped found a country, and it was the work of decades. Despite any failings and wooden teeth.
Lee was the unsuccessful military leader of a failed 4-year long rebellion.
How are the two in the same league? And why would Lee deserve a statue? -

I didn't say Lee's in the same league. Again, I'm not a Southerner. I don't relate to them at all. But Lee was important to Virginians enough to have a statue erected. A quick google of his history shows Lee was an important historical figure. And there are much less important figures who have statues allover the country.
What is the point of removing his statue now? Because he supported slavery? So did Washington, Jefferson, Adams and scores of others.

Pffffft. I can name every president in order, give his political party, and make a brief comment on his administration. I'm a history buff.

Then you're biased in favor of black people which is okay but if you ignore everyone, then the other races/ethinities will get angry! That's what this administration was trying to resolve. The voters he represented needed an adminiatration to level out the playing field just a little. Things were off balance and you cannot ignore those folks because they…well they're angry just like blacks and latinos and other people of color are angry at the unfair government policies. It's a collective thing. It's about government. The point wasn't race wars. Only narrow minded stupid people made this about race wars.

I definitely take your point on the Founding Fathers who were also slaveowners, and their statues' day might come, some day.
But beyond being merely a slaveowner, Lee is arguably a symbol of a slave-state in the making, the Confederacy. The Confederacy was about slavery. If you want to argue it was also about states' rights or mint juleps I will just have a nice laugh. -

I was taught in school that the Civil War was about state's rights, not slavery. I had a good laugh at that one even when I was a kid. I agree with you there.
But you really think Jefferson's statue would or should come down because he owned slaves? I hope that kind of absurd denial and retroactive faux morality never sweeps this country.
Both the Union and the Confederacy had abominable practices. Women couldn't vote, homosexuals were thrown in prison, 10 year olds were forced to work in factories, blah blah blah. You can't judge those men by today's standards. Robert E Lee worked within the framework of the cards he was dealt by history.

I doubt that Jefferson's black mistress had that much issue with being his mistress. Besides, Jefferson is long dead. People need to get over it. Lol a white man has never raped me. Never ever. I can't say that about any other race or ethnic man.

They're
not
in the same league. Lee got a few statues in the South,
big deal.
He's a large part of American history, and as such deserves the recognition.
On the other hand, George Washington is revered by the entire country! We named our capital and an entire State for Washington. He's also on the one dollar bill!

Ever see the movie DEMOTION MAN?

why not just put the statues in a museum, then?
besides, those statues are not about reminding people about the horrors of slavery or the Civil War. they were sculpted and placed in parks and plazas to celebrate the cause.
