I think many people don’t see much difference in picture quality and don’t want to shell out the extra money.

I am one of those ppl.
Do I really feel left out that I did not see that they did not trim Tom Cruise's nose hair in the hanging from the ceiling scene in MI and that I did not shell out three digit dollars for it?
      Never. I say never!

Yeah there’s hardly much difference in picture quality, it’s such a cash grab.

The difference in quality is night and day.

I get preferring one look over the other, but I still most definitely see a difference.
Hell, I prefer watching old 80s slashers on a CRT TV and a VHS.

I think Blu-ray prices have gone down

I think Bluray discs are more durable.

There's often better extra material on DVD releases. Sometimes there aren't any extras on blu ray editions at all so for my all-time favourites, I have them on both blu ray and DVD.
