I bought a Marvel Blu-ray collection yesterday. The seller was Chaos Productions if you are interested.

Those are the movies that don't need a boost with dvd sales. I bet that's how it's always been except now more disproportionately skewed towards tentpoles.

A long ass time probably 10 years ago. Why doesn't bargain bin count as buying a dvd??

I don't think bargain bin sales are as useful in recouping costs. At that point the retailer is trying to make space for different dvds and make a little money back. It won't be ordering more of the bargain dvds. If my understanding of the economics is right.

It's not right. The dollar stores regularly replace the sold bargain movies with different ones.
You got the second highest score.

I buy the Best Buy steelbooks of every major release I am interested in.
Best Buy barely even sells dvd or bluray anymore. Movie selection has been relegated to one tiny floating rack at the entrance of the store which is also shared with videogame new releases.
Redbox rentals are dead as well. In the last 2 years I have seen someone else use one of them only once. You used to have to stand in line just to return a disc there. Crazy.
What happened to the American Dream? It came true! You're lookin' at it…
