Yet another instance of a bunch of coddled snowflakes threatening a professor because he said something politically inco

Yes and no.
In Europe over the last two decades, governments have tried to create nations with multiple cultures in them. Sounds good in theory, but what has happened is that groups are self segregating and not engaging with wider society. Not learning the languages and not respecting the customs and norms.
The argument isn't about whether people from other cultures should be in Europe, its about whether separate cultures should exist within Europe but separate from it and that never seems to end well.
Aspects of culture have always crossed borders and it has more often than bot been beneficial, Christ, Cricket isn't an Indian sport but I doubt you'll find many Indians who object to it as a symbol of British Imperialism.
Identity politics is a separate issue and one I thing is completely unproductive and ultimately harmful. It ignores the individual, which cannot be a good thing in my opinion. It leads to ridiculous scenarios, like Stephen Fry quitting twitter after getting tons of abuse for making a joke about his female friend.
The primacy of the individual should be paramount, and other people not liking what people say is not a reason for censorship. -

Around here, "identity politics" is like "cuck" or SJW or "race car bed", generally empty epithets thrown out by alt-right types bereft of substantive responses.
It's the current internet thing. "Sexist, misogynist, racist, transphobe, Islamophobe" are all thrown around like confetti, regardless of what the topic actually is to shut down the opponant.
Or when they actually engage in it. Your self-described being "overdramatic and nasty" and a "bombastic prick" and moaning about "Oppression League"s and "identity politics", and untrve advocating the segregation of nations by race. -

Except you ineptly or purposely left out "around here".

I did neither.
By "around here" you are attempting to discredit my statement by equating my use of the term with the word "cuck."
Since I was addressing a poster with more than three brain cells, I credit him with understanding the actual meaning of the term. -

You do it all. Add you can include "collectivist" in you bag of gushed stupid.

Gushed tendentious misapplication is also a thing, despite your crushing stupidity.

I don't give a crap who you were talking to. I contributed the very substantive, very relevant to you

"Probably, although I think the problem lies more in the clamp-on-controversy gripping universities by the throat in the age of students driving policy and people not informing themselves on the topic being lampooned before objecting, rather than poor satire on his part."
I can agree with that. -

Yeah, it's on Twitter too. Remember the furore when trump retweeted some dubious crime stats from a user call whitegenocide?

It is on Stormfront, Breitbart comment sections, more than a couple alt-righty reddit forums, areas of 4chan, etc. That's the crowd he's spoofing.
What? Don't look at me, I just hang out there to see what they're jawing about.
Professor Noel Ignatiev called for the "abolition of the white race". England's diversity minister tweeted "Kill all white males". You're familiar enough with the alt right to know about "white genocide" but know familiar enough to know where it came from? -

Professor Noel Ignatiev
This is like watching an alt-right virgin stumble on his first Stormfront thread on nationalism. You're so new and fresh. Welcome to 1999.
