It's like when people sign a message with "thanks." Okay, thanks for what? Oh, so "thanks" is now as meaningless a formality as "how's it going," which is never actually used to find out how someone is doing.

I always refrain from typing in all capital letters because of those reasons! Exclamation marks are very useful, as they can add a unique touch of humor into sarcastic comments, lol.
