Actually I don't think it does. Since it is now always used it means absolutely nothing to me except as a formality.
It's like when people sign a message with "thanks." Okay, thanks for what? Oh, so "thanks" is now as meaningless a formality as "how's it going," which is never actually used to find out how someone is doing.
English is ****ing stupid but Americans are even dumber for including !!!this in every goddamn written interaction.
In my very humble opinion which means very little to most people, I think English is the best language in the world. -

That way you can be all excited in the beginning instead of waiting to the end and then realizing you were supposed to be excited.

I literally just used the word literally! Amazing!
The thing is we can no longer use language properly. I use incorrect grammar quite often, although my errors aren't as egregious as those made by most people.
I blame schools and I blame the Democrats. Holy ****, my phone just advised I pluralize Democrats as "democrat's." There's another causative factor behind the devolution of the English language.
Language changes and evolves, this has always been the case. So why is it so annoying to see exclamation points used as though they were periods? Perhaps it's the ubiquitous nature of the mistake. Moreso, though, I think it's that I now feel like an asshole if I also don't put an ! Into every sentence.
It's all very similar to the mtf trans phenomenon. A guy who "became" a woman is not a woman. This is fact. However I'd be shamed for referring to a male-to-female tranny as "he." Normally I don't really care about the trannies, it's the coersive nature of it's effects on language that I find infuriating. That and the terrifying possibility of being catfished by one of them
Stop.
