The newspaper and the article (and therefore the author) leans left.
The idea of using Schnitzel as currency to aid the imagination isn't exactly new.
But the article is funny.
How many Centuries can Elon Musk eat Schnitzel?
400 people became new billionaires in 2025. Musk doubled his fortune to 725 billion.
Absurd figures, comprehensible only by comparing them to a Schnitzel.
3-5 schnitzels a day are definitely possible.
Isn't it wonderful? In just one year, the number of billionaires worldwide increased by 400, according to the magazine Forbes. Elon Musk doubled his fortune to $725 billion. Despite the excitement, questions remain. What do they actually do with all that money? Do they jump in and burrow around in it like moles? Or do they light their living room fireplaces with bundles of banknotes?
For us ordinary earners, it all seems very abstract. How can we even imagine such sums, removed from the monetary system and withheld from the rest of the population? That's where Gerd Müller comes in, the late
"Bomber of the Nation"
, who rejected a dream offer from FC Barcelona with the words:
"I can't eat more than one schnitzel a day."
Of course he could have! 3-5 Schnitzels are certainly doable. Let's assume, for our billionaires' sake, that veal schnitzels cost EUR 50 per kilo, which corresponds to about 5 schnitzels a day. Or pork schnitzels cost EUR 20 per kilo.
Unusual Down-to-Earth Experience
If an ordinary (100 billion) billionaire were to stand in his own kitchen, preparing his 5 schnitzels himself (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner), not out of necessity, but as an almost mega-pretentious hobby in its down-to-earthness, that's something he could use to score points in a home feature for Forbes. He could keep doing that for 5.5 million years or even 14 million years with pork schnitzel, though of course it wouldn't taste quite as exquisite.
Or he serves countless meals daily to his fellow rich people, false friends, parasites, arse kissers and groupies on his numerous yachts. Always only on one yacht at a time, because as Gerd Müller would have said:
"I can't sail around on more than one yacht a day."
Another important question is whether the butcher buys Tesla stock, since a large portion of Elon Musk's fortune is tied up in it. If not, then the man (like the rest of us) will have to dig into his wallet and later go to bed hungry after consuming just a few hundred thousand schnitzels. What an unusually down-to-earth experience.
Fewer schnitzels are available if you don't prepare them yourself, but instead eat them at a legendary billionaire's schnitzel restaurant. There, the schnitzels are carved from calves born on the seabed, raised on bottled champagne, killed by an expensive medium-range missile and then breaded with gold. The price tag is USD 5,000 or with potato salad USD 10,000.
Bitter Absurdity
I don't know about you, dear readers, but for me the
"point of no joke"
was long since crossed, the point at which a person, a thing, a situation becomes so ludicrous that the absurdity stifles the desperately needed anger required to want to change that situation or leastwise to hate that person.
This also applies to Musk. What does one think, what does one feel, what does one do in the face of such a powerful figure of fun? This man is completely broken. He hasn't accomplished anything constructive in his entire life. He hasn't invented anything, as is often claimed; he hijacks or buys inventions and inventors. His emotional intelligence is nonexistent. His children hate him. He's a drug addict. He knows nothing about the world. He's probably too stupid to be evil.
To illustrate the difference: If Putin dies, I'll cheer as if my team scored a crucial goal. Musk, on the other hand, can live or die, become impoverished or a fantasy billionaire, he can eat tofu or panda bear schnitzel, three or three million a day – I don't care.
