Don't know which one I'd call my favorite, but I'm old-school, and, NGL, pots, pans, skillets… yeah, those be my go-to cooking implements for a lot of things I prepare. Also, huge honorable mention goes to my slow-cooker (or crock pot, if you will), as well as this big enameled cast iron pot with heavy lid that I use in the oven a lot.

You can cook over the stovetop with those. My mom does it all the time. I've even seen master chef Matty Matherson cook with that pot all time on his Netflix series Just A Dash.

Quite right. I've used mine on the stove for making big batches of vegetable soup, or simmering whole chickens in water (poaching, it's called), or making corned beef. I love my cast iron pot.

It's a big plastic thing with shelves that you put food on and pour water in the bottom of to steam. My mom used to cook with one years ago. The food goes too mushy for my liking, but it's good to cook multiple things at once like veg.
