Dead Wolf found in Chapel - Mayor speaks out
Two weeks after the discovery of a dead wolf, the mayor of the town speaks about wolf kills and concerns.
On January 14th, 2026 Pirsch.de reported on a wolf found in a chapel near Waldweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate. While the cause of death remains unclear and is currently under investigation, there is news from the village of 800 inhabitants.

So they don't know any more details yet.
The mayor uses the attention to promote his village.
    The hunting magazine
    "Pirsch"
engages in self-promotion and stirs up hatred against the wolf.
Although the real culprits are the illegally immigrated raccoons. 🦝🦝🦝

The dead wolf in the chapel stays mysterious.
The investigation is ongoing; here's another picture:
Why was the Wolf lying in the Chapel?
The circumstances surrounding the case are strange, if not mysterious.

Mystery of dead Wolf in Chapel appears to be solved 🐺⛪ Cause of Death clarified
On a Sunday – January 11 – a dead wolf was found in the chapel near the Clinic Forester's Lodge, near Waldweiler. The state's Lynx and Wolf Coordination Center (Kluwo) reported the following day that he was likely killed in a traffic accident.
The wolf carcass from the chapel near Waldweiler is being removed.

That's not the official cause of death, but rather a well-founded assumption.
I won't pursue this any further.
And the Wolf's Hour is already over again.

Below is an older and very looooooong article.
After reading it completely, I'll continue to follow this case.
Dead young Wolf in the Chapel ✝️ Bloody Indictment of Christian Credibility?
Two hikers discovered the carcass on January 11, 2026. The Lynx and Wolf Coordination Center (KLUWO) confirmed to selected media outlets that it was likely a young male from the resident Hochwald family. Initial indications point to a traffic accident, but there's a strong suspicion of illegal killing. The final cause of death must be determined by a post-mortem examination.
                Original picture (private)
This incident isn't an isolated case. It's the 3rd known case of a wolf found dead in the Hochwald region within just a few months. At the end of January 2025, another young wolf (according to DBB-Wolf a traffic accident) was found dead. The location was in the Trier-Saarburg district on the B407 federal highway near Mandern. At the beginning of August 2025, another dead wolf was found, also in the Trier-Saarburg district, on the Hunsrückhöhenstraße near Waldweiler.
The DBBW overview lists the cause as
                "unclear"
(referring to pending genetic and pathological analysis). KLUWO describes the dead animal as
                "found dead"
without a definitive cause, but with suspected traffic. The chapel where the 3rd wolf was found, lends the event a bitter symbolic dimension. An injured wild animal dying in a space traditionally associated with mercy and protection raises questions.
                ….
                ….
                Reversal of Christian Values?
The chapel is located about one kilometer above the Hunsrück High Road. On Sunday, two local hunters, who own private land in the surrounding wooded areas, were also present. Both expressed considerable doubt about the accident theory.
At the time of the discovery, there was snow on the ground, temperatures were below freezing, and no signs of dragging, blood or footprints could be found around the chapel. From the hunters' perspective, it's therefore highly likely that the wolf was deliberately placed in the chapel. As an accusation of reversing Christian values? If this is the case, whoever might have placed the wolf there with precisely this message can contact us at Wolfsschutz-Deutschland e. V. (Wolf Protection Germany).

                  German Shepherd Dog "Adolf"
A German man who trained his German Shepherd to lift his right paw on the command
                  "Heil Hitler"
was sentenced to 5 months in prison for neo-Nazi activities.
Roland T., a former Nazi already well-known to the authorities in Berlin, taught his dog
                  "Adolf"
to perform a Hitler salute with his right paw on command. For days, for weeks, the pensioner must have trained the poor dog, who of course had no idea what kind of sign he was making by sitting up on his hind legs.
Roland T. — not exactly blessed with intellectual riches [
                  and most often drunk
] — even had the dog perform in the presence of a police officer. When he had the dog demonstrate this
                  "trick"
                  , he was arrested.
In court, the repeat offender, who is known to the authorities, received no leniency.
                  "Adolf"
must now spend five months in an animal shelter before his owner is released from prison. The animal caretakers call his dog
                  "Adi"
                  .
                  https://www.krone.at/87194
                  December 21, 2007
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any recent, reliable info about
what ultimately happened to the dog and his owner.
                  But there's a movie from 2024.

German Woman found beheaded near Florence
                          🇮🇹
A German woman (44) was found dead near the Italian city of Florence.
Her body was discovered Wednesday morning at the foot of an abandoned farmhouse in Scandicci.
The woman was decapitated and her body partially dismembered.
The Florence public prosecutor's office opened a murder investigation.
The dead woman was discovered in the Italian town of Scandicci in Tuscany.
                          ….
                          ….
Officers were initially unable to approach the body because a dog was guarding her.
The search for evidence could only begin later. A knife was discovered during this investigation.
                          ….

According to unconfirmed rumours, the victim was homeless.
And now I wonder if the police shot the dog again.
Whether it's the Italian or German police, they like to shoot the dogs.
Even though with a dead body, there's
                          really
                          no immediate danger anymore. ☻
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, the dog (Pitbull) is still alive.

Most people celebrate their wedding anniversary with a dinner or a family gathering, but Derek (92) and Audrey Evans (94) from Dorset in England decided to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary in an unforgettable way – by buying their first Porsche!
In the 1950s Mr. Evans learned to drive in England in his father's Ford Model 8. The young couple's first car was an Austin 7. Now, seven decades later, they picked up their new Porsche Macan in the colour

                                the 92-year-old says and adds:
"We’re certainly not speeders, but we enjoy the feeling of power and comfort."
The Porsche was the perfect choice for the couple to celebrate their platinum wedding anniversary.
"A Porsche was always unique, reliable and unlike anything else for us. We’d wanted one for a long time and thought: Why not now?"

The couple has big plans for their Macan. Long drives and thousands of kilometers on the odometer lie ahead – and Derek already thinks about their next car. When asked about the secret to their long and happy marriage, Derek replies:
"Opposites attract. Audrey and I are different, but we share common interests. And there’s a lot of fun and laughter."
Derek Evans was a banker before retiring. Alongside his banking career, he championed the British paragliding scene, managed a world champion team and was even invited by Queen Elizabeth II. The couple remains active. Besides dancing together and driving their Porsche, their passion for adventure lives on. Their story shows that 70 years of love and a first Porsche are the perfect blend of wanderlust, joy and love – proof that dreams never expire.

Ravens anticipate Wolf Kill Sites across broad Scales
Many species make their living by scavenging from kills made by other species. Observational knowledge posits that they do this by following predators around. Lorretto et al. tested this assumption by tagging ravens, wolves and cougars in Yellowstone National Park. They found that the ravens weren’t following the predators; instead, they regularly returned to sites where they encountered wolf kills before, like bats returning to known fruiting trees at the right time. These results suggest that scavengers may also use spatial memory of ephemeral resources in their search for food.
Ravens circle above a wolf family in Yellowstone National Park. The birds seem to anticipate where the predators will hunt and arrive just in time.
Ravens are known for detecting traps, distinguishing between people and remembering faces —even years after an encounter. Experiments showed that they can use tools, solve problems in multiple steps and even plan ahead. All of this makes ravens among the most cognitively capable animals.

Do ravens kill lambs or calves? This was a debate between livestock farmers and conservationists for years. Farmers claim that sheep, cattle, geese and pigs are attacked by ravens. Scientists disagree: Ravens scavenge carrion and don't kill healthy animals. This docu seeks answers and shows rare hunting scenes.
