Same. But my sister is a believer in both ghosts and aliens.
When I lived with my sister a few years ago, one night, she claimed she saw UFO hovering directly above her then it zapped away. She freaked out and stormed inside. She's afraid she was going to get probed. I told her, after looking up and down on her, "[my sister's name], don't worry about it. I doubt they would want to probe
you
, not the way you're built. They probably saw you and fled for their lives. Next time you see them, ask them to beam me off the planet." She thought that was mean, but it did calm her down. Years before that, she was afraid she would get demonically possessed. I told her, "Oh, please. You already are a demon. They thought you're cool and see you as a friend. Plus, you're too much of a sinner to worry about being possessed, from what you told meβ¦β¦".

DEMONS
in DISGUISE! JUST like GHOSTS are!
A GHOST is EITHER a soul in/from
Purgatory
asking for prayers (help) to get into
Heaven

DEMON
impersonating a LOVED ONE or playing tricks to make FOOLS believe in
poltergeists
and the such.

Unpopular opinion: I think it's really really unlikely that aliens don't exist. In a supposedly infinite universe we are the only developed life form? Yeah, sorry, don't think so. They actually discovered many planets which have an ecosystem really similar to Earth and can really possibly have life on them.
The other question is: Have they ever visited us? Here I can understand how we can doubt it, I do as well.

At least, all these hysterical screaming every time I send an Ouija board to certain someone's house shouldn't haunt people when they find out who it is.

It depends, really. I heard doing them at 3 am at the places with history of death is the best time to do it.

Feel the need to be assholes to those who do? I'm myself a sceptical (I never experienced it myself), but I don't feel the need to be vile to people who say they went through paranormal experiences. I don't say that ghost exist or don't exist since we can't prove neither.
Unless you have had a direct, first-hand encounter, if you're normal, you'll think that anyone sharing their paranormal encounter is B.S.ing you, so they reply in kind.
I see a long line of "you have blocked this user" to whom you've replied appropriately, so it confirms I should keep her/it blocked.
For some, they feel their own personal beliefs threatened, so they attack because they convince themselves that you're B.Sing them. Others might be jealous that it's never happened to them, attacks again.
The bottom line: online, you don't know the person you're talking to. If you were to share some of the stuff that's pretty out there, they'd feel their intelligence insulted when all along you might be sharing the truth, so they insult you right back.
Even for someone who has experienced poltergeist, ghosts or whatever, to hear another's account⦠you STILL don't know if you're being pranked (a typical troll response: "haha I had you going, you're so stupid") or if you're reading what really happened to them, since say you've witnessed similar weird stuff. So the average mind responds with attacks right back.
And some people are just mentally ill (drugs or through no fault of their own: mental illness or prescribed medication side effects etc.) so those are sharing their hallucinations. And maybe some people are tired of dealing with druggies and respond by attacking you, thinking you're sharing a hallucination.
All this is no different than having different religious beliefs (
"your belief threatens my belief therefore I attack you so my imaginary friend in the sky is the real one, so I haven't wasted my life believing in fairy tales"
) or different political beliefs etc. It sucks but that's the way it is. You can't try to convince someone else of what you know, it's pointless. -

That's the thing, NO, I don't automatically think that the person is bullshiting me. Of course, many obviously do because they simply seek the attention. But I've spoken with some people who legitimately seemed like they experienced some weird ****. In many cases, not only they didn't seem like people who are lying about it, I even went as far as to not see any point for them to lie about it anyway.
I know this is like a REALLY odd and unique case, and that an exception doesn't prove without any doubt anything, but let's not forget one fact: there is still ONE case in Europe which after all the police investigation, is officially classed as "paranormal". If you've seen the Netflix's movie VerΓ³nica, it's based on the said case.
All this is no different than having different religious beliefs ("your belief threatens my belief therefore I attack you so my imaginary friend in the sky is the real one, so I haven't wasted my life believing in fairy tales")
Yeah, this is for me another grey zone. On one hand, I'm not a believer so I don't associate myself with any religion; on another hand, I can't prove that god doesn't exist, so I don't say "god doesn't exist" because I feel like it's a gratuitous provocation. I have no problem with people following a religion, as long as they don't use it as an excuse to be bigoted assholes.
But you point out exactly my main issue with it: every religion has a different god and different values. So what happens with that is that religions tend to disagree with each others and this creates conflicts. I don't think that something that was written by people who built the religion should be used as a guideline and a reason to creat conflicts/wars.
Another huge problem I have with this: I've christians promoting their beliefs and totally dismiss and bash other religions. I remember a christian fanatic who was all going about how muslims have a stupid religion, how their beliefs made no sense and blah blah blah. The problem is that christianity, by this logic, makes just as little sense.
different political beliefs
Okay, yeah, this, I'm not even going there. Enough people already do a more than excellent job of showing how stupid, close-minded and intolerant they can be when they have a particular political beliefs and totally dismiss the opposite.

Oh sorry, it was corporate you, when I said "If you haven't experienced the paranormal", I'm explaining the state of mind of someone who hasn't. After all, THAT was my state of mind until a few years ago. You see, I may not have Netflix, but I don't need a show to prove it to me: I lived it. And that's all I'll say about that because it was the craziest thing ever. I couldn't blame someone for not believing if I were to tell. It took me years to tell friends, and then I found one who had grown up with "ghosts". And he's atheist, LOL!
On YT, I read comments, this one girl was claiming she was getting raped on a near daily basis by demons. What do you say to something like that? You can't. As I illustrated above, it could be stuff I don't know nothing about or it could be any thing (drugs, delusions, meds side effects, or just trolling). -

I see you've appended to your message. Before I read, what I was going to add: I have the Travel Channel on. Turn it on now if you get it: this woman is claiming that a spirit in her house was taking her form. That's stuff directly out of Charmed or any fantasy show like that. What do you do if it were to REALLY happen to you?
A few years ago, I'd have insulted the poster for asking me such an idiotic/troll question. Today, I know better: I know there's stuff I don't know nothing about and don't care to know more. I never encountered a "spirit who can take my shape" that I know of, but knowing what I lived thru, who am I to judge another's experience? All I know is: I can't and won't judge it as nutcases anymore.

Sorry, my bad.
