To be frank, I'd be scared to think of that. Some people believe when you die, you'd fade into oblivion and some say, when you die, you reincarnate into anything. Even those religious nutjobs say, YOU WILL THRIVE IN HEAVEN OR BURN IN HELL FOR ETERNITY! Who knows, really
Personally, I have never died, but I did wake up underwater when I took a bath once and I was a late teenager. I have even seen ghosts when I was younger so I'm a believer that there is a life after death. Like the film starring Robin William,
What Dreams May Come
.
What do you think? Do you believe in life after death? Any weird experiences, like out of body experiences? Know someone who went through life/death situation?

We don't even exist in this reality. We are not atoms, we are not energy. We are but the information that exists in the relationship between. A quantum bonding, that even beyond death will continue to be. We may be gone, but our spirit lives on to start again, for every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

I like your description of the non-physicality of our being. However, if thoughts are the result of electric impulses flowing between synapses in the brain, what are we? And how can our being survive the death of the physical?

I like your post. Deeply philosophical post. At least, your post didn't make my brain implode or explode but it probably happened to someone else in this thread or on filmboard.

I remember scaring my sister that the movie is based on true story because we ARE in the Matrix!
I was a mean, mean brother. But it also make sense if we are indeed in The Matrix. That way, I would fight someone in perfect choreographed fight and jump from building to building as well as fly across the globe.
But my artistic taste was hoping for What Dreams May Come type of afterlife, though.

— 6 years ago(August 04, 2019 02:54 AM)You'd like Ellen DeGeneres. It's sorta sad to know such facts on the inside order to make a statement on the outside, like "when your heart stops beating." She'd never say that, though, maybe just things like, "You suck," seem to be the mandate. It's probably true, and if she ever read I said that I hope she'd not take you harshly for supporting such a tangent…

I have tried to induce out of body experiences but have never been successful. Doctors can tinker with a certain region of the brain to induce them but I don't have the necessary equipment. A lot of people counter reports of near death experiences by pointing to those people who have died and been resurrected and experienced nothing, but that at most proves that not everybody has the same experience, not that the only real experience is the null experience. Maybe some people go to an afterlife and other people just fizzle out.

Wouldn't that be dangerous? What if you mess up and you end up in interminable coma with slim chance of waking or in catatonic state? But I did have OOB experience naturally a few times. It was freaky. Same thing happened to my sister. Sometimes we both also have dreams that tend to come true, but that happens from time to time, infrequent.

How about when I was like 16/17?
Better?
PS Yeah, there are so many theories and possibilities. We'll never know until after we actually die. Scary thing is: the dead don't usually tell a tale from the other side unless if they are brought back. Even if they are brought back, they may be dismissed as a dream because the brain will remain active for a while until the heart is restarted.

If you want to see a very funny and somewhat twisted TV show on this subject, check out
"Dead Like Me":
It only lasted two years, but it was brilliant and hilarious imho:
MAGA! FAFO!
Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't.
Dumbocraps: evil people who celebrate murder.

This was such a funs series! I can't believe it ended so quickly, - much too soon.
I guess they had to make more room for that reality tv Kartrashian clan stuff.

Yes it was, and it only lasted two years I believe. My theory is that the network suits were
brain dead assholes.
