He's only 31. Nothing in the modern game.
His crapness isn't age related; it's just something that happened.

He was really good at a very young age - so its been a long career already. he was brilliant as a teenager!
      not everyone is an Ibra.
      many tail off.
but he has been very confused with so many different roles, and maybe a bit of everything has reduced his quality.
i think he would play really well in the mls though. on the ball , passing and when in with a chance to score he is fine. he just can not do the classic rooney pitch heat map anymore. that lights up the whole pitch and also produce results.

        No.
China wants Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan. Both are old.

The guy who wrote the article about him aging faster than other players was bang on. At 18, he was really a 23-24 year old. So it's not surprising that he's done at 31.

                  Bad genetics.
Cristiano Ronaldo is older than him but CR7 looks younger than Rooney.

He was the best teenager in the world IMO. Definitely better than Ronaldo and more explosive than Messi.
But I always remember the video of him in the directors box trying to secretly drink a pint unaware he was being filmed.
I think when you are at your place of work and you are secretly trying to consume alcohol, well, this might be something you need to keep a check on.
I feel a bit for him though, I think he is quite a shy boy, he definitely isn't a natural extrovert, and since he was 16 he has had the country poking fun at his looks, his weight, his intelligence, his behaviour, even with all the adulation in the world I think that would hurt anyone in his shoes. No wonder he turns to alcohol. And I think the alcohol has taken its toll on his body, he is still a great player but he hasn't had that sharpness, speed, lightening reactions and reflexes for a lot longer than people will admit, since probably his early 20s. But I'll repeat, he is still a very good player even without all that.

He is in a horrible place at the moment, made worse when he looks at someone like Jermain Defoe, who is older but still very hungry and arguably is much more deserving of a place in the England squad that Rooney. Other "golden oldies" making Rooney look knackered are Ibra and Peter Crouch.

Who is more likely to score in a big match..Rooney or Mata? Mata, maybe, but it's not time quite yet to start writing Rooney's obituary.
                          What, behind the rabbit?

Yes it is. It's well that time. He has not played a good game for either club or country in the last two years

He still possesses an ability to produce key clinical quality. It's just becoming less frequent.
