How would a private forum be funded? It wouldn't be fair for one person to cover the costs continually no matter how small the cost.

I already pay for a server. There's free sites too if people don't want it funded (enjin for example).

Doubt private forum would work. Costs, sure, but there'd also be a lack of fresh bodies and someone would be able to nuke the whole thing whenever. Another positive aspect with Reddit is that it has a decent mobile application.
