Doubt private forum would work. Costs, sure, but there'd also be a lack of fresh bodies and someone would be able to nuke the whole thing whenever. Another positive aspect with Reddit is that it has a decent mobile application.

Reddit is likely the better idea, so long as theres a bit of moderation (and said moderation is being done by someone semi neutral)
