Hell I'd like any Spider-man villain that's not Venom or Carnage.

That's boring though! Venom's tongue makes the character and Carnage is supposed to be the most awesome Spider-Man bad guy since Anti-Venom

This is the problem here. People like to hype these two up like they're the greatest things since sliced bread. Hell the majority of Carnage's popularity comes from people that like him more for his concept than actual character. People do love crazy SOBs.
Green Goblin and Doc Ock have had a much bigger impact on not just Spider-man's life, but Peter Parker's as well.

Agreed. While he may have debuted in the mid-80s, Venom really is the embodiment of the trend of the 90s comics.style over substance.

I feel that there's been movements to stuff those superficial characters like Venom and Psylocke with all the substance they can get.
Venom has traded a few bodies since the days of the big smile, the best of which has been Agent Venom, where wounded warrior, and former rival to Peter, Flash Thompson becomes a heroic Venom.
The more classic Eddie Brock Venom I could do without.

Psylocke is an interesting case, in that she was a pretty interesting character originally. But the more interesting aspects of her character took a backseat when she had the whole body-swap thing.

Psychic spy, fashion model, and the only person on the team that has a pilot license. How is she not the team leader all the time?
EDIT: Okay, fine, I know Cyclops can fly a plane. Wolverine, too. And Forge. And Shadowcat. And Storm, I don't know why. And Gambit for no reason. And Beast. And Emma Frost. And Charles Xavier. Is this place a f_ckin' flight school? What the hell?

If the rumors hold, Marvel might pass on mutants and Fantastic Four characters for this game. It's pretty telling when the trailer shot for Iron Man and Captain Marvel, instead of Wolverine.
It doesn't make sense that they're trying to erase mutants until they get the film rights back, but that's what's been happening at Marvel.

It's rumored that Fox owned characters are pretty much a lock for DLC.
If not even Wolverine makes the base roster, then I think he's likely going to be a free DLC character, as incentive to buy all the others.

If that's true then there's at least 10 characters to add to the roster on Marvel's side.
It'd be nice to see Gambit and Rogue return.
