Which would you prefer?
I have always thought that once they made their millions Louis should have gone back for Penelope. Yeah, I know she was snobby and brushed Winthorpe off earlier, but she was a stunner and would have been a waste for that Todd ass hole to keep her!
Anyone else agree with that or do you think he was right in staying with Ophelia?

Well, the first time I saw this film, I had wished he had done that too, but then I realized something. Penelope was part of Louis' old snobbish life and she actually didn't want him once he became broke. I don't think even if the Dukes brought him back as they had planned, she would've come back to him. And the reason he stayed with Ophelia was that she was a good woman who cared for him when no one else did and he is a better man because of it. He may not have wanted Penelope anymore, especially since she was related to the Dukes, who ruined his life over a dollar bet.

I remember when I've first seen this movie I was disappointed that Louis didn't try to make amends with Penelope but after a while once I've started having a bunch of "friends" brushing me off I've later realized why Louis chose not to make amends with Penelope and why he decided to stay with Ophelia, I thought he made the right decision to stay with Ophelia.
I can't stand people like Penelope, Todd and their group of friends, I wish justice would have been served on them for being such total snobs -

Having VERY recently gone through a number of my "friends" and even FAMILY TOTALLY "brushing Me off", in my own time of need (kidney failure/on dialysis 3 times a week, mother dies suddenly shortly after), I KNOW how that feelsand I would NOT "go back" to someone who COULD have helped me, but didn't for whatever reason. If, in the future things 'change" in a material way for ME..I will NOT just "welcome them back', with open arms .

Check out Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies (11 years later then Trading Places). She does a strip tease, gets down to her bra and panties. I think you might change your mind about Penelope's body being better than Ophellia's, maybe not, that is your choice. I think Ophellia all the way is better.

I'm a girl but I'd choose Ophelia. She had a banging body while Penelope's body was all skinny and gross from what I remember. Ophelia also had the better personality and smile. However, Penelope wins face-wise BUT not by much to be honest. Penelope was not all that, she seemed good looking but you could tell it was all makeup and her face was very sharp and weird from certain angles so it doesn't make up for her other flaws. Ophelia wins.

It's VERY VERY close, I'd have to go with Penelope.
That scene where Penelope strips to her underwear, my jaw dropped slightly, she has a FANTASTIC body.
JLC I already knew has a great body, but Penelope has a more attractive face.
All the same, if I were to choose whom to date after getting to know both of them, I'd go with JLC. -

Seriously. This isn't even close. The fact that people know Jamie Lee Curtis' name and are calling the other woman by her character's name "Penelope" says everything. JLC is a freakin sexy goddess icon legend. Nuff said.
