I liked him best as the sheriff in "Empire of the Ants" and as a cynical, grouchy homicide detective in "Superstition."

I've never heard of Mr. Salmi unfortunately until last week. I was watching the Twilight Zone episode "Of Late I think of Cliffordville". Albert Salmi really stood out to me and I enjoyed his performance immensely.

My favorite Albert Salmi role, was his portrayal as Charlie Rawlins,in the "Unforgiven". His role was different from his usual tough guy character. He was a sweet, lovable h dope in love with Audrey Hepburn.

Can't go past Smerdykov from 'The Brothers Karamazov' but I liked his Inspector Sturgess from 'Superstition' & Harvey Stembaugh from 'Lawman'.

It breaks one's heart to know of his career, his wife's tragedy and his suicide. He should have been recognized as a performer of impossible dimension, but was regulated to tv character actor.

I liked him as the "bad-guy" character in the Kung Fu pilot. Probably most forget he was Danny Noonan's Father in Caddyshak.

I loved him in Dallas I'm young, though, and don't remember too much of his early work and only HAPPENED to watch Dallas on SoapNet. I was about 30 then. Lol! Anyway, that scene between him and Sue Ellen when he was trying to get her in the sack with him before JR got there (that was JR's plan all along), I still crack up about it.
Recently, I've been7ec watching the Twilight Zone and I KNEW-I KNEW I recognized him. Great actor. Sorry to know of his death and the circumstances around it. I know people talk bad about suicide and such, but sometimes, this life just pushes you to the edge of the cliff and you jump. I hate he took his wife out with him, but I don't know the full story and I don't need to. I still have "Remember Cliffordville" on my DVR. One of the Twilight Zone's greatest hits. RIP to Rod Serling for the gift of this TV show.
                                  God bless.

Superb actor. I often wondered what happened to him after his great early years on television, which seemed to come to an end some time after the 60s. Salmi's tragic suicide was horrible to learn about. Some people are more gifted than they know what to do with. Mr. Salmi just seemed to fall apart apart after a certain point. It was such a sad ending to a promising life and career. RIP, Albert Salmi.
