We're getting away from the point, which is that Andrew Roberts gleefully calls for the mass extermination of his fellow Brits and, ostensibly, some Scots and (Northern) Irish as well. As a free speech absolutist, I'm not calling for him to be punished, as reprehensible as his words are. I merely find it curious that those snowflakes who were melting down over Bob Vylan and Kneecap have remained mum.

Why should Roberts get the benefit of having his words interpreted figuratively when the same grace isn't extended to Vylan?
Again, I have no problem with what either of them said. I support people's right to free speech even when that speech is reprehensible. I'm merely pointing out hypocrisy.

It seems clear that their words, like Roberts', were directed at the IDF as an institution and not the individual personnel. In fact, that was clear prior to their clarification.

Perhaps, but the fire in this case is raging on a different continent. I don't expect that anybody who was in the crowd at Glastonbury is a threat to IDF personnel more than 3,000 miles away.

Could Roberts' words not be classified as incitement, given the murder of Labour MP Jo Cox and multiple investigations of death threats against other Labour MPs? Conservative MP David Amess was also murdered, which speaks to volatility of the political situation in the UK in general.
