That is a total load of horseshit. Vets by far outnumber illegals and most are gainfully employed and do more to support our economy that most other groups. You don't know what the **** you are talking about.
In other words you pulled a warren.

Veterans living on the street would seem to be the result of housing and rent prices going through the roof and corporations automating jobs or sending them to third world countries. I would certainly support rent controls, the construction of more affordable housing, and an increase in taxes for corporations who offshore American jobs. But I'm not sure what illegals have to do with this particular issue? The solution to illegal immigration is, again, to punish those companies who hire them, perhaps even putting their CEOs in prison for human trafficking.

WHAT???
They are welcomed into our country, given SANCTUARY, given places to live, medical assistance…. How wonderful, while the men and women who have served our country get the shaft!

Who's hiring our veterans?
Who's not in prison for human trafficking?
Anyone who hires or hides an illegal immigrant is criminal… Key word? ILLEGAL!!!
I'm all for immigration. Go through legal channels.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

It's very straight forward, however the mere suggestion that there are Americans who are welcoming to migrants, but expect them to come here legally, through legal ports of entry, results in being called everything from racist to xenophobic. The convenient excising of the word "legal" is what happens.

I can't even respond to some of these replies because I can't believe what these people are saying. It's insanity!

Again, the problem here is corporate America and the oligarchy. The immigrants are just a distraction to make sure you will continue to "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain." The Wall Street bailout during the Bush and Obama administrations was larger than the annual budget of the Department of Veterans Affairs by nearly $300
billion
. Elon Musk alone has received more than $38 billion in corporate welfare, although, in fairness to your point, he might, in fact, be an illegal immigrant. But until we are willing to attack the root cause, rather than the symptoms, these problems will only continue to fester.

Sometimes, you do have to attack the symptoms. The Biden administration opened the border and that was harmful to us all as 12 to 20 million illegals poured in.
Border control agents have reported ISIS, Taliban, Chinese nationals, and Afghanis among them. Not good. -

You aren't wrong, but what it boils down to is that
most
of these people came here because they heard that there were jobs to be had. And the reason there were jobs to be had is that the rich CEOs know that the only consequences to hiring illegals will possibly be their plant getting raided and some of these workers sent packing. There are plenty of more where they came from. Until we begin making an example of some of these people by giving them years-long federal sentences (in real prisons, not country clubs), they will continue to hire illegal immigrants.
Always worth remembering that while the illegal did cross the border, they did not hire themselves or rent themselves an apartment. Had they found no opportunities here, they would have turned around and went home or kept on moving until they hit Canada. It is very sad indeed that this happening while we have jobless, homeless veterans. I say we should be most angry with the CEOs and landlords for creating the situation.

The border shouldn't have been open.
We now have lots of scary illegals here because of a lefty administration you supported.
All the rest of what you said may or may not be true or valid contributions to this discussion if the bad guys go into action.
The reservoir supplying your water could be poisoned tonight. The restaurant you go to next week could be blown to smithereens while you sip your drink. The bridge you're driving across could be destroyed in a millisecond.
Think, man. -

I haven't supported any administration. I literally despise every one of them since FDR and he died before my dad was born.
I completely agree with your concerns. That's why it is imperative to begin putting the concerns of the American working class over the concerns of Wall Street, who love having illegal immigrants around who are willing to work for less money and can never complain about conditions that aren't up to code.

I don't believe your scenario of Wall Streeters loving illegals is a thing.
And there aren't enough Wall Streeters to drive an insane, ill-advised open border policy anyway; not even with all their valuable campaign contributions.
Besides, there are enough legal migrant workers and immigrants to satisfy that need and it's not worth the risk of all the negative consequences of an open border.
Sure, the rich don't have to worry as much in their gated communities, but they've got to know they won't last long if the **** hits the fan and social order becomes a thing of the past.
They get their water from the same reservoir you do and they don't have enough ammo to hold out forever. -

On the contrary, there isn't a single word uttered publicly by a politician, let alone a policy implemented that has not been wholly approved by Wall Street. Oh, there may be principled person here and there on both sides - think Bernie on the left or Thomas Massie on the right - but certainly not enough of them to drive any agenda forward.
Sure, the rich don't have to worry as much in their gated communities, but they've got to know they won't last long if the **** hits the fan and social order becomes a thing of the past.
They have private islands and yachts. They won't be around. Hell, they may even be on Mars by then.
They get their water from the same reservoir you do and they don't have enough ammo to hold out forever.
You're forgetting that they own the bottled water and ammo companies. There's nothing they would love more than total chaos.
