There was this wonderful breakfast shoppe that we'd go to every weekend and I would order potato latkes with sour cream and applesauce, and I would get a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. OMG, it's
    sooooo
    different than that carton stuff!
Now-a-days I don't drink juice, but I got this craving for OJ, so I squeezed two oranges and made sure to get the pulp in there for fibre, and
    ooohh
it was so delish! I highly recommend only using Mineola oranges, though.
I must be needing Vitamin C or something.

I used a wooden citrus reamer and was able to get absolutely everything out of those orange skins! The juicers didn't seem to get as much.
I usually only use mine for lemons and limes, but they work dandy on fresh oranges.

Wonder why Lois bought one of those squeezers instead of an electric reamer? Coleman the butler used one to prepare Louis Winthorpe's freshly squeezed morning juice and used more than just a couple of oranges!

The machines are probably quicker and less messy, but I've found that doing it by hand allows me to get the most juice out of the fruit. It does get rather sticky, though.

There is always the option of simply not putting the pulp in the juice that you just squeezed.

Too much trouble. You have to squeeze it, then extract the pulp. And one orange isn't enough

Not with the wooden reamer that I posted. When I use it to get the juice, just the juice goes into the cup and the pulp collects on the wooden ridges. I had to make the choice to remove the pulp from the tool and actively put it into my juice.

You still have to clean it and throw away the pulp.

You always have to clean up when preparing food of any sort. I just wipe the pulp off into the trash and clean the tool off in the sink. No big deal.

If you look for reasons to avoid doing things or listing off things that "might" happen and focus on the "what ifs" because you don't want to do something, that is all you will ever see. I just wanted a glass of orange juice, and it was worth the squeeze. It really was not all that complicated.

I have done it before, and that's how I know. I'm not blindly commenting on something without knowing what I'm talking about.
I have squeezed oranges (one is never enough), and one of them could not taste good. Maybe too sweet or bitter. I don't care to have extra things to clean and throw away. I also don't find much difference between concentrate and fresh squeezed.

That must be incredible. I would love to have that. Do you make fresh squeezed orange juice for yourself very often? (I know it's a giant raise to the glucose levels, but it tasted so fresh and refreshing as a treat!)
I used to have a lemon tree in the yard of one place that I lived, and my current yard used to have a pear tree, but it stopped producing fruit.

I mostly give them away because it bears a lot of fruit that I can’t finish myself. But every now and then I get a craving for freshly squeezed juice so I’ll indulge.
