Isn't "almost died" subjective?

I can say I almost died due to being in extreme pain for an hour, or having chest pain for an hour. What constitutes "almost died"? You can feel like you almost died, after breathing certain chemicals. Or is it strictly a flatline? Is that the only barometer?

yes. and millard might feel like he is "almost dead" when his extended family sees his filmboards porno pix which he sends to general discussion members.
you might say "I am almost dead" after that 3 inch spider crawled over my head and around my ear, and i had to remain motionless until morning
