A couple of us were discussing this on the
    Barney Miller
board recently, and thought it would have been a natural to have some of the Twelfth Precinct members make a cameo appearance in Harry's courtroom for old times' sake.
    Barney Miller
had already left the airwaves when
    Night Court
began, but since both were produced by Reinhold Weege (and NC was something of a de facto spinoff), we kind of felt it would have been a funny idea to have Harris, Dietrich, Levitt, Wojo, or even Barney or Inspector Luger put in a guest appearance at some point. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I just started watching this series over again ( after many years ) on the ( newly titled ) ENCORE CLASSIC Channel
. I recently looked up the writer of this series on Wikipedia - Reinhold Weege and found out he also did the series MASH . Most interesting I had no idea he had wrote all three of these series . Also I was wondering if any actors from MASH had a guest appearance on this show as well ? It would have been awesome if any of the actors from both " Barney Miller " and " MAS*H " had made an appearance on this show . It most likely would have added on another fabulous season to this already excellent show
. Thanks amyghost for your subject post
        .

Imagine Klinger turning up in Night Court. Better yet, imagine Dan's reaction!

Good one amyghost that would have been so classic
! I wonder what comment Dan would have said after seeing Klinger from MAS*H too

did anyone here happen to notice on tonight's first episode from season 2 of this show ( on ENCORE CLASSIC of course ) there was a small " 1978 Grease Movie Reunion " present in the courtroom
? It was actors - Dinah Manoff who played " Marty Maraschino " AND Michael Tucci as " Sonny LaTierri " . Dinah Manoff played the nun named Sarah and Michael Tucci as Mr. Pina a purse thief
              .

Florence Stanley (Bernice Fish) appeared on two Night Court episodes, one as a judge.

I'd forgotten about Florence's appearances, but of course, she didn't play her character from
                  Barney Miller
                  in either of them, unfortunately.

Speaking of Florence, Florence Halop ("Florence") appeared on 6 episodes of Barney Miller.

None of the regular cast members did, but a bunch of guest stars from Barney Miller made guest appearances on Night Court as well. Just look at the series finale of Barney Miller: Stanley Brock, Oliver Clark, John Dullaghan & George Murdock were also on Night Court and all but Clark appeared multiple times as multiple characters. Also add the late Al Ruscio (among many others)

Funny you share that because the actor did show up as a homicide cop on an early NC episode.
He did not act the same but he had the same wardrobe!

                            No.
                            Just no.
Stupid idea and fortunately they never did that.

BM was more realistic than NC ever was.

You're definitely right about post first season NC. In the very earliest episodes I think it might have been a better fit, before the show moved over to completely goofy humor.

Have you been watching it on Catchy Comedy?
Either nightly or from the marathon they are having over this wknd?
                                  I have been doing both.
