Finally on TCM. I don't have TCM anymore so I had to purchase it, but it's the only time I've ever seen it available.

β 4 years ago(January 06, 2022 01:42 PM)I just put it in my queue at
Netflix
and moved it to the top. When it arrives and I've watched itβ¦if I want to I can make a copy of it on my hard-drive and put it on a flash-drive. Then watch it on my BIG SCREEN tv!

Hey,
@Lilith
, I found it again and watched it again, too! It's one of the films I simply cannot NOT watch, because of the joy it brings. I felt the same way this time. I probably always will. Glad you got a copy to own. -

Hey!
Nice to see you around!
I'll need to give this another watch. It brings me so much joy while being simple, relying purely on the talent of the wonderful actors alone.

I know I've said it before, but only Cary Grant can make the simple act of shaving for 5 minutes completely watchable and enjoyable. He's got this sly quirk about him that I find rather charming.

Doing my best. I have a lot going on, but I like it here and hope to be able to participate more than I have been of late. I'm so glad that you and others are still here though. Hopefully, I'll be able to see you around more often.

I have missed your presence on the board. It's always such a pleasure to engage in conversation with classic movie buffs. Sometimes, it's funny how even a single scene within a movie can be the catalyst for an entire dialogue of friendly banter filled with reminiscing as we relish the evolving chats. It's wonderful to see you here! I do so hope that you're able to stick around for a while.

Hey,
@Lilith
. I hope I'm not too late with this. I just wanted to share some info I remembered about this film, which I'm actually copying from Wikipedia. I think you'll enjoy it.
"The house built for the 1948 film still stands,[34] on the old Fox Ranch[35] property in Malibu Creek State Park, in the hills a few miles north of Malibu.[36]
"In real life, the family of the author, Eric Hodgins, built their house in the Litchfield County town of New Milford, Connecticut.[45] In 1945, Hodgins sold, for $38,000, to John Allard, a retired Air Force general.[46] In 1953, for $40,000, Ralph Gulliver, a New Milford fuel dealer, bought the property.[46] In 1972, his son, Jack and Jill Gulliver lived there.[46] It was sold in 1980 for an undisclosed amount,[34][45] and 2004 for $1.2 million.[40]"

Now I'm thinking I want to see the film again!! It's such a treasure. -

This is fantastic! He wrote some home life and personal life experience into the film. This was fun to read. It still remains one of my favourite movies, which I find fascinating since it's really a rather "bland" film in and of itself. It's just that the acting is so superior that makes this film fun to watch over and over. And over.

Philadelphia Story
is one of my all-time favourites. He's got this cheeky little grin. He conveys so much with just his eyes. That's a true actor.
^^Just a
look!

Yes, Lilith, he was a wonderful actor, in comedies and dramas. I thought his performance in
Penny Serenade
was simply heartbreaking. And he did so much of it with looks only. Irene Dunne, too. So often, the best acting is in what is never said. -

Agreed! So much was conveyed with expressions, countenance, affect, gestures, and genuine acting skills and not things like special effects and CGI.
