Who is your favorite serial killer?

I lived in Chicago for 15 years and went to my share of dive bars. If you're in the mood for the unpredictable, nothing tops a dive bar. By any chance, can you remember the names of any the bars you went to?
The Granville Anvil was my very favorite.

I couldn’t say favourite, but there can be a fascination attributed to a serial killer’s psychology and behaviours. The likeable qualities some of these psychopaths possessed, was something they also used to their advantage.
I have pity and empathy for Wournos and perhaps that is because she wasn’t “technically” a serial killer in the written sense. Albert Fish was just a perverted sick creep to the max.

That's right. Aileen got no pleasure from her killings. She was not a sadist. She also didn't mutilate the bodies afterwards nor did she collect any gruesome "trophies".
The letter Albert Fish wrote to Grace Budd's parents was horrifying and heartbreaking. Evidently, neither parent had ever learned to read, so their son had to read the letter aloud to them. This is so hard to fathom.

Fish was a molester and extreme torturer of children as described in what I read about him. It was sickening and I don't think I ever want to re-read or read anything else about him.
What turned him into this monster is the only interesting aspect to me.
Aileen chose her victims randomly out of convenience in the moment. She didn't covet, nor did she do gruesome things with the bodies. She wanted them dead born out of her own hatred for men and her main motive was to rob them only. I can't believe that her own background and upbringing didn't stir up some empathy for her from the legal/justice realms. She was just hated and hated and hated upon.

That's it in a nutshell. Everybody hated Aileen Wournos from the very start. I think you said once that her dark world was too frightening for people to look at and so they just decided that it was Aileen who was the bad one. She became the receptacle for their dark, foreboding projections.

She became the receptacle for their dark, foreboding projections.
They wouldn't even care to fathom her hellish existence and while a mirror was held right up to their faces, they attempted to smash it so they wouldn't have to see something ugly within themselves they were looking at.

Personally Nilsen and John Christie. British make much better serial killers.
Need to object.
By passport the US had/has the best ones. *
One of the creepiest is
Richard Ramirez
.

And then there's
Dean Philip Carter
who isn't an innocent lamb.
But pretty sure he didn't do it. While he was cruising around high as a kite, stealing and doing other nonsense, two serial killers were on the spree in L.A.
He's on death row/jail since 1984.
For a longer did read every morning on the way to work one of his "Columns":
http://deadmantalking.com/index.htm
He doesn't talk about his case…or only in a few lines.
Got his appeal files online and somewhat 'surprised' how easily people get judged.
Same here in Germany, don't want to blame US.

Many US serial killers have german sounding surnames, e.g. Dahmer.
Didn't find a statistic but like to tease:
You 'stole' our best scientists and as a bonus you got the best killers.
