So in other words, the guy hates the idea of a larger narrative instead of everything always being wrapped up in a neat little package. He hates worldbuilding and serialized storytelling.
Thank god this guy never got anywhere near Star Wars. We'd have one movie that's be it.

The problem is that the MCU is too ashamed. They turned Falcon's wondrous bright colored costume into a suit..and got rid of Hawkeye's mask. Why does FOX get scrutinized to no end for not wanting to make Wolverine wear yellow spandex while the MCU gets a pass?

Hawkeye hasn't worn a mask in over 20 years, and Falcon's had variant costumes.
Plus neither decisions over their outfits had the mean-spirited mindset Singer had when he went for the Black leather.

Trolling aside, you do propose an interesting argument. I'd say it's all about balance really. A lot of the stuff in the MCU is pulled from the Ultimate comics which were made to be more realistic and grounded hence why I think Marvel can get away with it. I think it's a fine line between being faithful to the comics and making it so that general audiences can accept it. It's a give and take.
I'm certainly not saying Wolverine HAS to wear the yellow spandex/mask, but I think they could introduce it in subtle ways like the coloring. Even then, I have no problem with them not giving him the spandex. Negasonic and Colossus looked GREAT in Deadpool though.

Thanks to people like Nolan and Singer, people who went to CBMs thought that the "grounded" way was the ONLY way to make CBMs and held any CBM that didn't go for the grounded way in utter contempt.
The MCU started to defy this in 2008, and it's been an uphill battle ever since thanks to those two.
