WB is going to have to do some serious PR this year (all while hoping that WW is well-received). Otherwise, yes, JL is pretty much doomed.

honestly we're going to have to wait and see whether or not WB gets a new director for The Batman soon, to see if they're planning to scrap the JLU or continue. if we get no one officially announced by like March or April it's probably dead after AQ.
now hopefully if they do get a new director it's actually a respectable onenot like a Brett Ratner (who is in bed with WB financing their films) or a f-cking McG.

What did John Campea over at Collider say about the DCEU the other day? Something like "just another violinist going up to the deck to play on the Titanic." That was BEFORE Affleck ran away from directing The Batman.

I generally hate Collider but I can't wait until tomorrow's show. They're totally going to take a sh!t all over WB and their retarded handling of the DCEU.

it's possible, but they'll have to nail an extremely we respected director, like a rumored Matt Reeves. the problem is who would jump into this situation?
but either way it would be disappointing, because we were all saying "well at least we got Ben Affleck's The Batman" and nowwell..that's not happening.

They only people who would take this job now are "yes men" and inexperienced directors looking for some exposure and a big payday.

There was a little nodding smiley face at the end too, but I don't know how to add that in.
My comment was going off of the assumption that he is one of those "Marvel Vs. DC" people, who thinks anything Marvel does is just and reasonable and anything DC does is garbage.
I don't personally have anything against Peyton Reed, and I enjoyed Ant-Man. But really, it was forgettable, and didn't feel spectacular in the slightest. It felt like someone just came on board to meet a deadline, and that's exactly what it was. It happens.

ah. I wouldn't be surprised if they get someone similar, but all you can do is wait and see who WB or Affleck (if he's actually interested) get as a replacement.

Nobody is concerned that fanboy pressure have made Affleck step down?

This is part of the problem. Yea WB/DC are idiots but let's face it, DC fanboys can be rather overzealous and fussy. I don't blame Affleck for wanting to avoid that kind of pressure;especially after a flop like
                              Live By Night
                              .
Whatever you are, be a good one.
