Nope, sound and pragmatic is a voice of caution and concern and wariness when others are jumping to try something when they haven't considered possible bad outcomes.
Bigoted is what Yo-yo's friends and Senator Nadeer are.
Not Mack.
But I understand that you feel different.
We'll have to agree to disagree. -

which of Yo-Yo's friends? ah, from tht scene in the party. He is more than merely cautious, concerned and wary, he is outright adverse. Pragmatic implies putting things to use for the benefit they cause and only inasmuch they cause benefit, it aint pragmatic to deny every attempt at something new. If he considered possibly bad outcomes you might say he is being sound, but he goes directly to a single bad outcome and only 'cause the movies say so. FICTIONAL MOVIES. FICTIONAL TO THEM (Not just to us). If he used actual studies and registers it would be justified, but he uses other people's nightmares.

This particular episode, yes, he referenced movies.
Most of the time he doesn't. He uses his experience.
Look, it's obvious we don't see the same on this. You think Mack is bigoted. I don't.
And I don't see either of us changing our minds.
We'll just have to agree to disagree. -

Also aliens in general, and I think the list goes on.
One of my many problems with Mack; there's nothing wrong with someone being the voice of reason on occasion, but I watch this kind of show specifically
because
it has aliens, inhumans, powered people, weird stuff, etc. I don't want to listen to a character bitch and whine about "this is bad" and "I bet they're evil" or "I don't trust this" and so on every time something/someone cool turns up on screen.
I think it got old real fast and after two and a half years I really wonder why he hasn't gotten a different job yet.

Yes he's bigoted about things that showed up on the planet to try and kill us. I think thats kind of a natural reaction. It would be one thing if the first aliens showed up to make peace and give us all free internet for life but that didn't happen. And before Aida the only robot they ever saw was Ultron, who once again tried to take over the world by killing a mass of people.
I get what people are saying but its a weird notion that people on planet Earth wouldn't be suspicious as hell of things that they don't understand, ever been in the same room with and tried to kill us. Ask yourself why so many are bigoted against Muslims today? Is it because they just hate Islam or is the fact factions of it has spent decades now bombing innocent people worldwide? I'm sure for some it is the former, the majority its clearly the latter. And I don't support that by the way but I clearly understand why the bigotry and fear is in place just the same. And these are just other humans beings. There is nothing special/superior about them.
But aliens and androids are on another level. Its not like the guy was born hating them, but he works at a job where he's constantly defending his life against them so can you blame him?
Its just a reaction MOST people would have. I know people who are bigoted against gay people and they haven't tried to murder anyone. Thats the world we live in. Imagine if the Androids were killers AND gay. Oh lawdy! -

To be fair, he's got reason.
He was zombied by the Inhuman city, and I probably don't even have to mention Jiaying and Gordon. And Hive. And then there was Ultron.
I wonder if I can get an actual robot apocalypse policy
(Edited because I can't spell Jiaying correctly.) -

I think he was traumatized by the "black guy dies first in horror movies" trope. So he hates any horror movie situation.
Or, ignorant posters.
Blacks
Trannys
Gays
Muslims
Anything that the liberals stand for.
Oh he totally hates white people.
Willoughby, sir? Thats Willoughby right outside. Its July. Its summer. Its 1888. -

I wouldn't call him "bigoted", but wary, which is any good "protector" would be.
Also, are you forgetting the Inhuman leaders gave everyone GOOD REASON for Inhumans to be looked a with suspicion?
As for androids I agree with him. I think the day we succeed n making a TRUE artificial intelligence is the day are fates are sealed. Why would anyone make something that can a) outthink think them.. and b) (even more dangerous) make something that can control its on "evolution" .. and do so over night.
