So you think that's proof that Batman avoided researching Superman in order to not feel conflicted?
There's no proof of that in the film i'll admit that. But that didn't bother me as I said, I can use my imagination just as easily as I can nitpick things.
To me, it's just common sense given his nature In the film. It seems like he is avoiding looking at Superman as a human altogether and more treating him as some sort of potential threat just based on the sheer amount of power he possesses as one man.
Here's what Batman probably fears could go wrong with Superman given his cynical nature:

That's nice. Me, I prefer not having to fill in gaps that have no reason to be there.

Gotta love that reasoning - he shouldn't research the possible world-ending threat, because he probably won't find anything. Better to just charge headfirst into a fight, right?

Not all versions can out think everyone and this version has severe PTSD issues from an endless war on crime that accomplished nothing making him easier for Luthor to manipulate. Bruce's crimes tend to involve criminals leaving clues all but begging him to find them so his detective skills have always been vastly overrated.

I've never read a great Batman mystery. The Long Halloween is pretty overrated and barely holds up as a mystery story. They always make certain sacrifices with comic book characters when bringing them to the big screen.
Nolan's Batman was a boring fighter but had more detective skills
Snyder's Batman kicks more ass but has less detective skills.

What has this got to do with anything? Unless I am mistaken the joker would not take anything more than a bullet to the head to kill. Its one thing going up against a crazy guy with a pale skin condition a few tattoos and bad teeth than going up against an alien that can survive a blast from a nuclear missile don't you think? When facing a foe that is on the power level of Superman don't you think that you would want to know every single scrap of information possible?
It's not about whether he's corrupt now or not. It's about whether there's a 1% chance that he'll ever turn. Batman just decided he was going to wipe out the alien eliminate the potential of Superman's powers being used/abused for evil.
That's right we sit though the whole movie with this being the motivation and reason that Batman feels the need to kill Superman and here is one of the biggest issues with the films plot. Martha being the name of Superman mother does not change the 1% chance that he might turn against us in the slightest. The fact that Batman ends up seeing that Superman has humanity in him does not change this either in fact if anything it should have made Batman think that there was more risk if anything it was not like he was seeing the good side of humanity in this film was it? It was also not as though Batman even has a change of heart we see him killing Lex minions in the very next scene and then punching girls in the face and hiding behind children in SS.
It wasn't hard for me, the little twat's been ignored since he had his meltdown being proven wrong about how the Kent's were horrible parents. worst depiction of the kent's on screen ever.
Oh god don't mention the Kent again you will break Rambo again OdumC for god sakes man its nearly new year have some pity.

Kill the alien, the civilian dies with him. Is the civilian some strong and powerful dude doing somehing big and troubling everyday? Is the civilian going to be a problem in the fight? Does Batman even want to sneak up on him and stab him in the back?
Nope. And so, Superman's civilian ID doesn't matter to Batman. He wants to go toe to toe with the alien himself.

Batman would want to know if Superman with all his power would use it for bad intentions, so he would care and want to know who he is.
Batman would think reasonably and take consideration of the beneficial things Superman has done too like idk, helping the military destroy Zod's terraforming machine, or saving people around the world, but it is totally absent in this movie.
