(and Irish crime)

Some good movies on there (many I haven't seen though, so will put them on my never ending list), but I suppose I should have gone into a bit more detail as to what I meant by Brit crime. I meant more British and Irish crime series or mini series. They have a certain feel to them that I really like. They're usually quite "feel-bad".

From the above list of 42, I've seen 18. Need to do a lot better on this list.
THE THIRD MAN (1949, Carol Reed)
THE SMALL BACK ROOM (1949, Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger)
ON THE NIGHT OF THE FIRE (1939, Brian Desmond Hurst)
NIGHT AND THE CITY (1950, Jules Dassin)
SO LONG AT THE FAIR (1950, Antony Darnborough & Terence Fisher)
THE CLOUDED YELLOW (1951, Ralph Thomas)
THE OCTOBER MAN (1947, Roy Baker)
HELL DRIVERS (1957, Cy Endfield)
NEVER LET GO (1960, John Guillermin)
GASLIGHT (1940, Thorold Dickinson)
OBSESSION (1948, Edward Dmytryk)
APPOINTMENT WITH CRIME (1946, John Harlow)
GOOD TIME GIRL (1948, Donald MacDonald)
BRIGHTON ROCK (1947, John Boulting)
THE FALLEN IDOL (1948, Carol Reed)
THE SNORKEL(1958, Guy Green)
PEEPING TOM (1960, Michael Powell)
CORRIDOR OF MIRRORS (1948, Terence Young)
Every single one was decent; several so far were spectacular.
One title is the most powerful noir I've ever seen.
One title is my favorite noir.
One title is the first British noir ever made.

And I'm in doubt about your capacity for commonsense. Even a cursory glance at my writing style (vocabulary, phrasing) indicates to anyone that I am no other poster on any board anywhere. I've always hoed my own row.

Nope. No interest in returning to my old user account. Too much drama.
As for you, you are quickly wearing out your welcome with me. I really don't give a fat frog's fanny what any sickly little social media kiddie wants to accuse me of; so prepare to begone in 4…3….2…

Happy Valley is the only one of those I've seen, so I probably can't help much lmao. I did watch Dept Q recently and really enjoyed it. And Inside Man. But you've probably seen those

I have!
The national broadcast here channel looooves its brit crime because we do. The rest I can find on youtube or hopefully other streaming apps. There will be some things I can't get hold of, though.
If you get the chance to see the Welsh crime series Hidden (Craith), see it. It's beautiful and sad. The first series straight up haunted me. Great acting. Gorgeous scenery. -

I'll look into it! We're mostly confined to whatever Netflix chooses to share with us, but there are other avenues I can explore…
Have you seen Mr. Mercedes? Not a British or Irish crime series, but it does star Brendan Gleeson. It's quite underrated, particularly the first season. Although since it is a Stephen King adaptation, things get a little strange later on.
