    We always knew the first-season music came from an unknown European source. Now we know at least one of the people who wrote it.
    I recently discovered an almost-forgotten composer, Rudy Schrager (
    not
    Schlager), through his
    Gunsmoke
    scores. You cannot believe how good they are equal to Herrmann, Goldsmith,
    etc
    .

      It sounds like he was rather prolific. (And it's been a long time since I've heard of
      Ramar of the Jungle
      , starring Jon Hall. It lasted only two seasons, but I loved it.)
