Oh i love questions like these:
my dream cast for the black dossier would be:
    Characters:
Mina Harker - Natalie Portman (i reckon she has Mina's spikiness)
Alan Quartermain - Tom Hardy (is just great all round)
Jimmy Bond - Henry Cavill (should have been Bond in the first place!)
Emma Night - Emily Blunt (definitely slinky enough)
Orlando - Cillian Murphy (was very convincing in Breakfast On Pluto)
Hugo Drummond - Ray Stevenson (is big enough - would have to add facial scars)
Fanny Hill - Emile De Ravin (would love to hear her attempt at a British accent)
Prospero - Ian McKellan or maybe Christopher Lee (obvious choices I know)
    Change Anything?
I've no idea how one would even adapt this into a film, it refers to the pairs previous escapades with the league and also Orlando's. Also ties together an insane amount of literature.
    Genre:
Fantasy, Sci-fi, Steam-punk, Thriller, with kickass 3-D for the Blazing World segment
dairy for me, none for the non-believers!

This series had so much potential to be great and they just effed it up. I think it needs a serious reboot in the vien of Batman Begins or The Increadable Hulk. If it were to be rebooted into a franchise, here's my cast list:
      Directed by Terry Gilliam
Writtin By Alan Moore himself (which will never happen) or perhaps me. I think I could write a wonderful League adaptation
Here's a complete cast list of who and what I'd like to see in a rebooted big budget film series based on the comics:
      Kira Knightly as Mina Murry
      Harrison Ford as Allen Quatermain
      Ben Kingsly as Capt. Nemo
      Simon Pegg as Hawley Gryphon
      Adrien Brodey as Dr. Jekyll
      Ron Pearlman as Mr. Hyde
      Pierce Brosnand as Campion Bond
William Hurt as C. August Dupin
Sao Yun Fat as Fu Manchu
      Peter O'Toole as James Moriarty
      Keith Carridine as Dr. Moreau
      Kate Blachet as Orlando
      Alan Moore Himself as Prospero
      Bob Hoskins as Caliban
      Clair Danes as Ariel
      John Hurt as Don Quixote
      Louis Guzman as Sanchopanza
      Daniel Day Lewis as Gulliver
      Daniel Radcliff as Natty Bumpo
      Scarlett Johanson as Fanny Hill
Jude Law as Young Allen Quatermain
      Christian Bale as "Jimmy" Bond
      Malin Ackerman as Emma Knight
      Alfred Molina as Hugo Drummond
Michael Kane as Big Brother/Robert Kim Cherry/Harry Lime/Mother/M
      Danny DeVito as Dr. Calligari
      Willem Defoe as Rotwag
Leonardo De Caprio as Arsne Lupin
      Michael Clark Duncan as Fantomas
      Brad Dourif as Monsouir Zenith
Christopher Lee as Robur the Conquorer
Phillip Seymore Hoffman as Doctor Mabuse
Hillary Swank as Miss Jane Warrleson
      Billy Zane as Peter Brady
Sped-Up Voice of James Earl Jones & CGI as The Fearless Bold Black Balloonist
      Frida Pinto as Janni
      Johnny Depp as Jack MacHeath
Helena Boham Carter as The Nameless Woman from the Threepenny Opera section
      Garry Oldman as Oliver Haddo
Robert Downey, Jr. as Thomas Carknaki
The Blazing World segment would have to be done in 3-D. What do you think?

Here's why, and believe me, I knew I would take heat for this, but the Threepenny Opera section kept reminding me of Sweeney Todd. I was envisioning them with Carter and Depp's singing voices. Sorry, Rolando. Other than that, how was the casting?

OMG, I am sooo sorry for being so nasty to you. I feel so guilty! But thanks a gazillion for the apology. It really warmed my heart.
BTW, your casting was absolutely fabulous.

No problem at all, my good man. I've come to accept that people on IMDb are going to exaggerate their oppinions, for better or for worse. I've heard way, way worse things on here. I'm glad you like the rest of my casting. Its an old list, however. I've made a revised version of it, if I can dig that up, I'll post it on here.
No need to feel guilty at all
You shut your mouth when you're talking to me!

Wow congratulations on showing your complete lack of , well anything to be honest.
Keira Knightley ? you lost any sense or shred of being taken seriously at the first member of your cast list, there is more acting potential in a parrot than that girl will ever exhibit.
Johnny Depp ? whats wrong with Depp ? A) hes very good at playing off the wall/wacky characters B) he brings MONEY and lots of it and the only way any film is going to get made/ have sequel prequel chances are if they make money and your cast list just. wont.
                    Try again
                    Its Eyre as in head.

That's an old list, I've since reread the entire series and made some adjustments. I can see Lily Cole or perhaps (and probably not) Natalie Portman as Mina.
And as far as Depp goes, screw him. We don't need him, especially for a role as small as Mack.
I now challenge you to recast every single character I mentioned. We'll compare notes when you're done.
But seriously, how can you hate Ron Pearlman as Hyde? He was born to play Hyde.
OK, Rabbit. We like it. We like your plan.
