You don't like the films I listed? Many of them are critically acclaimed or award winning classics.

Same thing you say on MC. Also, claiming so called great movies only shows that you can't think for yourself. What's next, Satantango?

I can think for myself. There are films I like that aren't popular or well reviewed, but these are my favourite Bogart films. What don't you like about the films I listed? Have you seen them all?

They suck. Just like your pompous ass pretending that ****ty movies are good.

The movies I listed are all excellent. Most people would agree with me on that. I think you may be the one whose taste in films is a little lacking if you think films like The African Queen and Casablanca are ****ty movies. I clearly have good taste in films.

I love Hausu. I have it on Criterion Blu-ray. I enjoyed Charade. I liked Island of Lost Souls and have it on Criterion Blu-ray. I haven't seen Take the Money and Run or The Plague of the Zombies , but they both sound interesting.

I can watch anything he appeared in so I’ll just choose one that wasn’t mentioned. In A Lonely Place which is not only a terrifically bitter love story but also features one of my favourite lines.
                              Laurel Gray : I said I liked it - I didn't say I wanted to kiss it.

Probably HIGH SIERRA. It was my first Bogart movie. I liked his complex character. He was tough but vulnerable.
I didn't like Jack Palance's interpretation in I DIED A THOUSAND TIMES. He was too menacing, too intense. He didn't have Bogart's charm or likability.

                                    Humphrey Bogart's top ten films.
                                    THE PETRIFIED FOREST [1936]
                                    HIGH SIERRA [1941]

TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT [1944]

THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE [1948]
                                    THE AFRICAN QUEEN [1951]
                                    THE CAINE MUTINY [1954]

Menancing was Jack Palances' specialty. He made a career out of that.

Yes it was, but it was out of place when playing a character like Roy Earle. It was Bogart's performance in HIGH SIERRA that made me a fan. I was drawn in by his warmth and character.
It would be like Palance taking on other roles made popular by Bogart and not displaying any of the charm and likability. Imagine Palance as Rick in CASABLANCA or in TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT. It would have been awful.
