The Bond franchise is still alive due to Brosnan. If it wasn't for GoldenEye, things would have been very different. When he took over, the franchise was at its weakest point and he managed to save it. GoldenEye is by far one of the best Bond films. Now, the rest of the Brosnan films were average. The only bad one was Die Another Day. Brosnan is probably the second best Bond after Connery when it comes to looks mannerisms and performance. Craig is so highly regarded because the films he's in are very good. In Casino Royale he had Mads Mikkelsen, who is an internationally respected actor and Martin Campebell as a director, now in Skyfall he had Bardem who is one of the best in Hollywood and Sam Mendes. That's what people don't see. Craig has all these A-listers around him, something that Brosnan didn't have and that helps a lot. Again,in my opinion, Brosnan was the second best, but the problem is that his movies ( besides GoldenEye, where he had Campbell and Sean Bean ) didn't have good scripts, A-list actors and A-list directors.

Pierce is my second favorite bond (behind Connery). Goldeneye was amazing, and I agree with what someone else said I would take Brosnan over moore any day

That was down to Martin Campbell, who helped save the Bond series again with Casino Royale. Brosnan has little to do with it, as has already been mentioned, Dalton was meant to star.
I do agree though that they just phoned in the scripts during his era, plus the Bond girls were way too famous. It seemed bizarre to have Halle Berry as a Bond girl after she just won an Oscar for Monster's Ball.

There were a lot of big name actors in PB's tenure They just did not get to shine, as the material was so off I think he might have been too old. Did not look good holding the weapons. Got the wrongs scripts.
I wanted to like him more, but having just watched Tomorrow Never Dies for the first time in a while, well, OUCH.

He's got the look. He plays Bond very well. But I agree, Goldeneye is the only Bond movie by him that I liked. But I REALLY liked it. One of my favorite Bond films. The other ones, not so much. Goldeneye was awesome though.

I really gotta disagree. Worst bond ever is Lazenby. I can't say any other name after that cause I love them all. But Lazenby is a beep imposter. Lucky hippie piece of beep If only Connery starred in OHMSS. Omg

PB looked more like an insurance salesman or CK model then a secret agent.

Who cares which actor played the best Bond. Bond isn't even a good character. The franchise is so uninteresting and full of cliches. It's the cheesy paperback mystery series of movies.
The only good Bond movie in the entire history of Bond movies is Casino Royale. Everything else is lame, predictable, and tired.

Personally, acting wise he's my favorite Bond but movie wise they dropped the ball. Goldeneyes my fav Bond movie but after that for his movies, they were either "meh" or "this sucks"
