You're confusing responsibility with liability. To quote Freud, "A neurotic repeats a behavior without remembering." Not remembering certain bad events that shaped you is a liability in the sense that you might repeat destructive patterns of behavior without even knowing it.
Some people, like Ms. Hecht, simply have more to remember than the rest of us.
And I wouldn't equate having a lesbian relationship with wandering into strangers' homes and babbling about UFOs. Lesbian is not a synonym for crazy.
But by all means, don't let me stand in the way of your need to bash a successful actress who did some spacy things in public during a rough period in her life. Bashing the woman seems to be very important to you. -

You know, something I don't get. How is it that he can be a GAY priest yet molest her? Anybody else seeing a huge flaw in this? No? Why does he have be a GAY priest, couldn't he just be a oversexualized pedophile? No some how he managed to be a GAY PRIEST even though he had sex with a woman, had these kids, then managed the molest the girl? What about the son, like where's his crazy ass autobiography?

The reasons given for not respecting her are:
Her actions while having a mental breakdown
Her "lesbian deal"
So because she has mental health problems - like anybody can - she shouldn't be respected? I hope nobody who believes that every has any family members who have mental health problems or have any themselves with attitudes like tha1c84t.
I don't know what her lesbian deal is. The fact she had a lesbian relationship? So because she fell in love with a woman she is not worthy of respect. Or do you believe she was faking lesbianism to help her career? Given that coming out got Ellen her show canceled why would Anne think it would help her career? -

It seems to me that her parents were a bit nutty themselves. Her dad was a closet gay, and I'm assuming he wouldn't accept the fact he was gay because he was so religious, so that was probably the reason he would rape her, whether he liked women/girls at all or not. Then eventually he decided to come out, and so then he eventually ended up with AIDS.
Or maybe he was a bisexual pedophile, I don't think there are many of them, but maybe he was one.
I'm not saying she was telling the truth, but I think it's a possible story. It would make sense as to why she has mental issues, anyway. Of course, she could have just made it all up because of her mental problems. So, who knows. -

wow xs3 i had no idea. I just came here because I always like when anne is in a movie, but had no idea her past was that crazy. That's terrible. Anyways, I have never seen a movie with anne in it where she does a bad joband she's a super MILF

I've always found it strange when people allow their offscreen views of an actor, who they don't know personally in the first place, to affect how they see their work onscreen and stage.
It just seems a bit hysterical, and insane to me, not being able to differentiate.
