Too many to list, but the first story of his I read was The Stand and I was hooked on him forever after that.

The first King book I read was Cujo. It scared the **** out of me especially since my family had a pet dog.

I was too sorry about the dog having rabies to really enjoy that one.

I think mine was the Everything’s Eventual collection, specifically the short story where the guy is about to be tortured in a South American dungeon.

His short stories might been even better than his novels! Have you read You Know They Got a Hell of a Band? Great stuff!

That man's novels were my whole life in middle school and high school.
I doubt I would have made it through adolescence without his books to distract me. Him and Dean Koontz, Lois Lowry and Judy Blume

He’s certainly no HP Lovecraft or Edgar Allen Poe, but he made pulp horror mainstream while also giving it artistic credibility.
But yes, he hasn’t had a relevant novel in 20-30 years.
