I miss him, too. He gave so much heart in all his performances. And I know what you mean about feeling his loss in the world even though you didn't know him. When M.C. Beaton died, I felt a great loss in the same way, which I found odd at the time. Her real name was Marion Chesney Gibbons and she was a writer. She wrote under many pseudonyms. I was a fan of her cozy murder mysteries featuring Agatha Raisin and Hamish MacBeth, which she wrote as M.C. Beaton.
But back to Robin Williams. Yes, he was one of the greats. An unforgettable actor and I'm not sure if he was ever given enough credit for what he could do.

Christina, you are a bit too fixated on death. You gonna be alright?

Yes!! I was fortunate to have seen that episode. That’s when I really observed his brilliance. James Lipton was such an important host of that show. He was able to pull out the actors or directors talent in the most subtle ways, so that the viewers could observe raw talent that the artist refined as their career progressed.

LOL, I like how in that Episode with Robin Williams, it took James Lipton 5 minutes (after Robin Williams came out on stage) before he could ask his first question.
LOL, That interview was supposed to be about Robin Williams life and career and instead, Williams turned it into a GREAT standup event.

Right!! I noticed that right away as well. What I enjoyed so much about Robin’s performance in that session was how easy it was for him to improv. None of it seemed awkward at all, and he went from one to another in quick succession. The ideas he came up with were fresh and unique. Some of it I was like, how did he go from this concept to that seemingly unrelated concept? Eventually I just couldn’t follow because then I was laughing out loud. I was laughing out loud more watching him do his own improv for The Actor’s Studio, and tailored for them? I guess?
Anyways, Robin made me laugh more that time than he has in the scripted movies and tv series I’d seen star in.
