you got to love IMDB for grand overstatements like that. Are you familiar with every director of all time? Have any idea how many terrible ones have been? And you're posting this on a Robert Altman board? Fair enough if he's not your thing, not everyone's going to like him but come on whenever I see these "worst movie of all time"etc type threads it really comes off as a pathetic attempt to cry for attention over the internet. Lame.

This is only yer pitiable opinion. Among those who know and understand he was considered one of the most original. He had a huge influ16d0ence on those who followed his time. And what have you directed worth remembering??

Wow. Some people have to fling t5b4heir angry, hate-filled political opinions into EVERYTHING. Even a nuetral IMDb message board. Altman was an egotistical douchebag? How egotistical is it of you to think your opinion is the only one that matters? You must be a miserable, frustrated person. And political opinions are like bungholes in case you didn't notice.

Ugh. Another "worst of all time" post. How original. I'm going to try to explain this to you very simply. "Good" and "Bad" are subjective depending on the person. Just because you think something is "Bad" doesn't make it so therefore stating it as "Fact" is completely erroneous. What is "Bad" to you could be "Good" to someone else. And vice versa. I love Altman. You don't. That doesn't make you or me right or wrong. It just means we have different opinions and tastes. Got it? Now go tell your third-grade teacher what you learned. I'm sure she'll be impressed.

His output was uneven, and there were a few rotten movies in his vast filmography. But he also directed some really good films and the fact that he could call on big stars for films like The Player etc shows how much appreciated he was in Holywood even though he had an independent streak.
Its that man again!! -

'appreciated he was in Holywood even though he had an independent streak'.
There is something pretentious about admiring Altman for the sake of the fact that he's Altmanand for him, claiming to have an independent streak because it makes one feel special.
Give me less 'independent streak', and more filmmaking.
