I think they're both pretty gorgeous, but I'll give the edge to Kate.
I concur with the action film sentiment, although if you match up their respective film characters so far, Charlize Theron wins. Selene vs. Mary Embrey? No contest.

Geez, Selene The Dead one, the OP is talking about the real person, not the characters they played. And Charlize is so much much more beautiful than Kate IRL, unless you are talking abut really old movies like Shooting Fish, where they both should have tied.

Kate beats Charlize in everything allthough they are both very good on screen and on looks. "On looks" sounds funny but you know what I mean.
The character Selene is what Kate wins me over with.

I like both of them. I am thrilled Kate came back to Underworld. She is awesome in that character. BTW I would add Milla Jovovich to beautiful women who can kick ass.This chick can be really tuff and be really sexy too.

Both are beautiful but for me Kate Beckinsale is stunning, would love to see them both in Underworld, As Kate has already reprised Selene in
Underworld: awakening due out next year, check out the trailer it looks good.
