Uhh, dont know about that What I am sure of, however, is that the fans of superhero movies are much, much sillier than fans of Cronenberg.

I think the OP was implying that Superhero movies are rated higher in the top 250 and do better financially and often even critically than Cronenberg's work.
The wording of the title and the shortness of the post seemed like they were being facetious and actually LIKE Cronenberg a lot. Of course, I could be wrong, but that's the impression I got.

Cronenberg is competent but inconsistent and not very active. I like his some of his dramas, but thats not enough to warrant the egotism behind his statements.
Wagner making operas of mythological gods is no different than directors making film of modern gods. None of Cronenberg's is "cinematic art", so he doesn't really have a platform.
Crash was one of those silliest "Best Pictures" in Oscar history.

Too bad the Crash that won the Oscars you are referring to, wasn't made by Cronenberg.

Thanks for vividly illustrating what I was saying about the fans of superhero movies being silly.

Wagner making operas is ALL different than today's craftsmen making films about the "modern gods". The former is vibrant art, the latter is popcorn for eyes.
Cronenberg has a right to an opinion, regardless of whether he has or hasn't made a film which could be labeled as "cinematic art"16d0. And I don't really get what's the fuss about what he said of the latest Batman Why people don't see it's basically a children's tale of a guy who wears latex suit and a mask shaped as a bat is beyond me. And to watch it and treat it seriously is kind of ridiculous.
I can enjoy it (latest Batman), because it's nicely made, with fight scenes and a somewhat interesting plot, but to call it deep or imply it would stand in the same corner as true cinematic art pieces, is really far fetched.

Even though he's talking about the wrong "Crash," at least he's correct about it being a stupid movie to win Best Picture.

                        Fact
I hate it when people just say FACT. It is never backed up by an argument, just one word that is supposed to convince everyone. 'Fact' means no room for debate, yet these are movies and this is a messageboard, so there is plenty of room to debate this. Fact!

I agree! There has not been one Cronenberg film that i watched and liked. In my opinion, one of the top most overrated directors ever.
