Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Chris Farley

    swedishfish777 — 18 years ago(January 19, 2008 12:59 AM)

just warning you: you probably will get pissed off when you read this
Chris farley was a talentless unfunny fat guy who has no appeal: all he did was jump around like an idiot, fall down, make snot noises and annoy people, and talk like he was seven
"oooooooooh look!!!! I am soooooooooo funny!!!!!!!!!!"
falling down and picking my nose for the camera were funny when I was five, not anymore
    Jim Belushi: rest in peace
he was a comedic genius, and had real talent. He was a physical comedian, but actually had some appeal and didn't act like he belonged in the loony bin.
When jim tried out for SNL, he was brialliant
What did chris do, jump up and down and make giddy noises?!!
I dont see why he is funny, and i dont think i ever will

um first of all, it's not
      jim it's john, lol.
as far as you not liking farley, that's
your opinion. a lot of people probably
wouldn't agree with you but i'm sure there
are others who feel that way. it's just
a matter of taste, and what not. i actually
know people who don't like belushi and feel
about him the way you do about chris.
(i, myself, like belushi so i obviously agree
      with you.)
i'm a really big fan of farley. i think he
was very talanted and he was more than
just a "fat guy" falling into things.
i have a feeling he would have done
amazing things if he hadn't passed
      away, IMO.

Like the other poster said, if you don't like him, that's fine. It's your opinion and you're entitled to not think he's funny. Many people don't. But seriously, just because you don't like his comedic style, you say you HATE him? 5b4What did he ever do to you? I like Farley because not only did I find him funny, but also, he seemed like a very sweet and kind hearted person. So many dumb@$$es on movie boards like this forget that hatred is a really deep, intense emotion that doesn't stem from being annoyed by someone. If you didn't like Farley, that's cool. No reason to hate him, you jerk.

Jim Belushi was crap to me, Chris was way above him, No comparison.. To say Chris had no talent shows what kind of lame person you are.. I don't laugh at many things in movies, it takes a lot to make me smile, but Chris was hilarious.. I guess you cant please everyone in this world though..

So that was the point of your entire post? to piss off fans of Chris?
have a little respect. If you didn't like him fine, but please keep such rude words to yourself.

You are right on all points, except that JOHN Belushi was the funny one, Jim should better sell cars than make movies. 🙂

On May 6, 2008 my biography of Chris will be released - The Chris Farley Show. If, by chance, you ever read it you will find such actors as Alec Baldwin, Chris Rock, Brian Denehey and many others talking about how Chris was a genius at analysing situations, actors, emotions - and delivering the right element and the right time. His timing was perfect (they all say). Beyond that, Rock, Spade, Sandler - they all claim Chris was by far the funniest of them all. And this is a fairly competitive group! So I'll just let everyone else defend Chris; and ask you again to read the book - if you survive the beating you're getting on this post! Ouch!

God bless you, Tom, for writing this book about your late, great brother, Chris. He was without a doubt one of the funniest performers I've ever seen. The movies he was involved with may not have always been worthy of his incredible talent, but I'll always treasure my memories of seeing him on stage, and later on SNL. He brought laughter and joy to so many people, as your new book points out so beautifully.
It's quite obvious that anyone who ever actually knew or worked with Chris loved him very much and admired his talent, so I'll just choose to ignore the opinions of idiots who don't know what the hell they're talking about, especially the guy who started this thread without even knowing the difference between John and Jim Belushi. He can just crawl back in his sad little troll hole, which is undoubtedly decorated with printed up copies of his own asinine internet posts.
