Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Bridget Fonda

    pommedouly — 18 years ago(October 26, 2007 04:10 PM)

I just don't get it, i thought she was promised to a brillant future in the movie industry, she's beautiful, she's very talented and she played in very cool moviesso where is she now? How come she's not doing anymore movies? I never was a big fan, but I really do miss her. "Come on Bridget! Get out here and do some movies!" Anyway i hope everything is fine with her and I wish she come back soon

Maybe she is just enjoying a simple life at home with her little boy and husband. I hope she comes back to film and tv though. She does not have to work, with her husband making a 7-figure a year living, I'm sure.

I became a big fan of her work after seeing The Assassin (the UK title for Point Of No Return) so I'll pretty much anything she's in or read up about her in reviews etc. I read someplace awhile ago - I'm afraid I can't remember where now - that after her car accident she was badly shaken up - that her life had seemed so fragile that she, at least in part, regretted working so hard on so many movies and not enjoying life itself. She intended to live life to the full rather than act for some time to come.

Actually, if you look at his page, he's done many movies in the last five years.

Actually, looking at all their pages, while Bridget and Jane Fonda have taken lengthy breaks, Henry Fonda never did and so far neither has Peter Fonda.

Despiting being a stay-at-home-mother and wife is only part of the reason why Bridget Fonda doesn't act anymore. From my bloc sorces, she has a life-threatening heart condition in the form of a tiny hole in her heart, about the size of a pinprick, and any stress could be fatal to her. She doesn't even exercise anymore, but is still a vegetarian and tries to keep it under control.
Sad to say, but she may be better off with quiet family life rather than the stress of making movies and TV shows which could put a strain on anyone's heart. Sorry to see her go, but that's life.

With an online name as whoppereater, I personally would be more careful about your heart.

Actually, I have seen "whoppereater" make some of the more serious comments, backed by facts and knowledge. Don't over-interpret a user name!.

Unless she developed it recentlyShe made her fair share of physically demanding movies, and with a life threatening heart condition insurance companies won't even let you near the set.

When did she deveop this condition? I'm assuming it was after her last film she did since it was not have made sense for previous insurance companies to put out money on her.

A lot of people are born with this condition. most don't ever have it discovered until something happens. It isn't something that just pop's up in a physical or something. A NHL player for the Pittsburgh Penguins was just diagnosed with it. I assure you his life was quite active until now and he was certainly insured.
