Married?

" I fail to understand why anyone would consider marriage and children something not to be talked about. "
Oh. So, since Eric Stolz is not talking about his life, you've decided that you have a right to do so?
Whether you think it's cool to talk about or not, here's the reality; you're talking about someone else. Just like TMZ, Fox news, and all those classy gossip websites.
Let's say, Zed's girl, that you went through a divorce. Maybe you don't want to talk about it, maybe you feel it's nobodies business- and yet a 'big fan' of yours claims the right to talk about it in the press! How would that make you feel?
"from what I gather I'm not in the minority. "
This presumes two things; that the majority is always correct (see Germany circa 1938) and that you're in the majority regarding this topic; however it seems that more than a few of us want to respect Eric Stolz wishes and keep his private life private.
"I do resent the implication that I can't be "real fan". '
It's not an implication at all. If someone says "I don't talk about my personal life", as he has in more than a few interviews, and you blatantly disregard that- then how much of a fan are you?
"someone always comes out and "vehemently attacks" whenever this topic comes up"
I'm not being vehement. Just stating facts.
"I can't help but think its Eric having his fun with this.I'm sure he gets a good laugh out of this."
At last we agree on something! -

Eric stoltz is clearly not gay. Come on!
Come on! And you're clearly not deluded either. Wake up and smell the coffee and look at his soft, gentle feminine face. There's your answer. Interesting, that many women, still don't want to accept male 'homosexuality' as a 'genuine' entity\sexuality. It is disempowering for them.

"A man his age and status in show business and he still can't mention his girfriend or childrenI'm guessing gay. I actually never thought he was gay but at this point, it seems fairly obvious."
Yeah, they used to be called 'confirmed bachelors', and no, no matter how much that gets you excited, it doesn't mean all older single men are gay. No, really.
